We binge watched it the other week. It was good in the same way Banshee was. Far fetched but enjoyable.
I've got a few episodes into this and I'm enjoying it. I've always been fascinated by the beginnings of hip-hop culture. Some amazingly talented young kids making something of themselves while living in an absolute **** hole. It's a really interesting period in New York's history generally.
Just finished Stranger Things and can't wait for the second series which I think is out at the end of the month
Now watching series 2 of Designated Survivor. A bit corny but is a good watch new episode each week. Also the new Star Trek. Never thought I would like it but is surprisingly addictive. I don't know why but it advertised Gotham series 2 a few weeks ago but I can't get it here in Jordan. If I hide my ip Netflix knows and blocks it. Trays.
Netflix has different selections of films and shows in every country. For example the new Star Trek Discovery isn't on USA Netflix.
Someone else just recommended this to me. Will give it a go. terrible but I laughed. Anyone watching The Deuce. Seen the first two, very good.
There aren't that many Vietnam docs that are really good (Last Days in Vietnam on Netflix is a good one, but is more about the end of the conflict than the war as a whole), but this one is really good.
Film called Go tell the Spartans with Burt Lancaster was good. Well it was years ago. Might try and find it see if it's still any good or aged badly.
Films on Vietnam have always been the best ones, imo. Apocalpyse Now is the best war film of all time for me. This new series (which I noticed is by Ken Burns, who did an incredible series on the American Civil War too) is fantastic though. It's Vietnam's The World at War. EDIT: In fact, Ken Burns' Civil War, Second World War and Prohibition docs are on Netflix. Give them a go if you can.
Haven't watched too many series on Netflix etc but the ones that have stood out for me so far are :- Narcos - brilliantly acted portrayal of the rise, and fall, of Pablo Escobar in Colombia in particular, and the Cali and Medellin cartels in general. Next season - the Mexican cartels....I hope. House of Cards - British and US series both excellent. Band of Brothers - set the standard. Vikings - factually close to the historical record of the northern invasion of the Great Heathen Army in the mid-860s. Vietnam - another brilliant Ken Burns production. Seen the whole series from the mid-1940s to the late 1970s. I'm surprised at the praise for Ozark...switched off after 4th episode as the plot became increasingly ludicrous...sorry.
I've just watched American Vandal, it's a brilliant satire of self-indulgent documentaries like Making a Murderer, well worth a watch.
Just finished watching Tin Star. 1 series and quite good. Not Banshee but similar sort of. Worth checking out. Just started Extant. Stars Halle Berry and 2 episodes in am already gripped.
