According to The Athletic, there are two contenders for the job - former Barnsley and WBA head coach Valerian Ismael and an unnamed German coach. https://archive.is/K8RWy
Didn’t go that well for him at WBA.. Manga was from Germany so will have a few connections. Of course could all just be speculating.
I suspect the unnamed one will get the nod. Which could be no bad thing really - the Germans do seem to breed good coaches.
Hopefully whoever it is will get given a chance by club and fans . Poor Ismael will already be put off coming if he reads the general reaction! I mean who knows with these managers - might help if we recruit well .
Who cares who the new coach is, he'll be gone within 3 months, more if he is appointed earlier in the summer break.
Yes Manga will probably be like Scott Duxbury’s attitude last summer then be over ruled by the Pozzos later on .
New manager ? Apparently likes a physical direct style of play . Well better get some players suited to that as not sure we actually have any right now !
I think given the way the club has churned through managers recently. It is sadly the kind of level we can reach.
Looking at his wiki page, at least he has some decent experience in the Championship. Also, maybe, getting someone in early will potentially help sorting the squad out to how he might want it to look. OK, I am clutching at straws, he's a foreign Hoofroyd! Valérien Ismaël - Wikipedia At least he looks like he won't take any nonsense. THe team need to grow a backbone. Maybe, he could be the start.
Footballinsider247 are reporting that talks with Francesco Farioli have just collapsed. I'm not sure if they are behind the times or if they knew something that The Athletic didn't.
Yes seems so . Good luck to him . Whoever was in charge faced big changes to the squad . Hopefully everyone is on the same page this time and he is given a squad to suit his style and some TIME! I see the usual comments mocking us have started which guess is understandable and maybe deserved in some sense . Well until the same people and media call for x to be sacked after a few games next season . And even our own fans moaning we sack managers etc then basically saying already this guy isn’t any good and a poor appointment so no doubt if there is a poor start the knives will be out . I’d ask them who they were hoping for!?!
Forgot, but, has Wilder even been officially thanked or said goodbye to yet? Another PR disaster, they could / SHOULD have said thanks to Wilder and mentioned that his contract was only till the end of the season! FFS
