Was at the game yesterday. Probably knows he has a lot of work to do getting confidence back into the squad and re-building it if players leave. Just as well he has come in very early. Hopefully the guy will get what he wants player wise (no cheap signings from one particular agent for example) and isn't under pressure straight away even if results aren't ideal early on (I presume the expectation will be promotion) Otherwise if we are going to make a change again at the first sign of trouble then this is all rather pointless.
I'm just about at the stage where, if this one is quickly sacked too, I'd politely suggest to Gino that, rather than hire another, he does the job himself.
Particularly after the way we got him ! Going behind peoples back . Must have made him a load of promises.
He will have a chance to see what the players at his disposal can do against Chelsea His formation and tactics will give us an idea of what he thinks is necessary I think by the time we have offloaded all the dross and the ones who will want to leave we will still have the basic of a reasonable squad but the additions to the squad will be crucial to our short term future
I wonder if he will have a greater say in the players he would like to see brought in? Gino has said that a different model will be used, but will that extend to not being given a group and told to make a team out of them.
I kid you not - after last night’s admittedly very poor performance there are already questions being asked about is Edwards good enough, will he have a plan B etc . So another few performances like that and can see fans putting pressure on him . Hopefully won’t be the case !
You can probably guess where from .. The same place that would be the first to criticise the Pozzos if they did make a change should things not go well .. Sure Edwards knows it wasn’t a great performance and will do his best to resolve any issues . Has to be given the squad though .
