Thanks @C Montgomery Burns He may be able to get onboard the big Charlton fans' forum without being immediately spotted, and he might even get onto the other one. If he turns up here on not606 Charlton he shouldn't be hard to spot - we don't exactly have a large crowd for him to blend in with It'll be interesting to see what effect he has with our online support base generally. We had the medicine show treatment from Matt Southall when ESI bought the Club alone for a quid - something he lied about at the time of course, telling fans the whole of Charlton Athletic "lock, stock and barrel" (which naturally should have included the Valley & training ground) was owned outright by ESI. The reality we soon found out was our Club had no assets left, and a secret EFL transfer embargo on it. Before the truth came out he made all kinds of positive noises and posed for pictures with our Upbeats (youngsters with Down's Syndrome) team. I always thought his cynical use of them particularly despicable.
@The Penguin was referring to our academy I believe. Sadly over the last decade we have lost more than a few really good youngsters effectively for peanuts. So to lose more under these new guys will represent an unwelcome continuation of that pain, rather than a new indignity. Actually damaging our academy as well as giving away all its hard work will be taken very badly though. Even the Belgian and the Dane recognised a functioning academy was a thing of value, not to be lightly neglected.
No, I mean that we have. Gomez for £3m, Pope for less than £1m, Kasey Palmer for £200,000 to name but a few.
A bit of squabbling going on over on the site that can’t be mentioned- all to do with sources - I won’t mention who what or when though
"My Welsh dick is bigger than your lolly pop dick Kojak." "There is no 15 year lease, just a lease in place for 15 years, but it's really a 5 year lease"
You'd think the takeover would have happened by now if there wasn't some sort of hitch. This will be good news if, as reported, there are other interested parties who would be better for the club.
Cawley reporting that the Methven takeover has collapsed, and everyone to do with it has left except Dean Holden.
We know Varney has a consortium ready, but Roland hates him, and there's rumours of another group sniffin around.
Someone (you can probably guess who) has been waiting patiently in the background for the period of exclusivity to finish (ended on 31.01) and have been in talks with Sandgaard since. This will not be a long drawn out affair. There will be no mystery men involved or secret leaks on LinkedIn - all the players will be in the public domain from the onset.
