The whole thing seems odd to me. All reports suggest sandgaard is haemorhagging money at the Valley, and is tired of funding it. Hardly makes for a strong bargaining position, but this drags on and on, and he drifts from one potential buyer to another without ever seeming to confirm a sale or even a price. I don't know if he feels the Wrexham story is going t incite a flood of potential buyers to the UK looking for football glory, but if so, he should do a reality check on who owns the assets at the Valley. And if he is realy short of cash and feels the need to sell Leaburn to fund next season, he might take a minute to consider how great an empty Valley hosting Fleetwood in september will look to a potential buyer. If I was him, I'd have offered to knock 2m off the price to get this done, and myself out of the football business. That he hasn't suggests there may be stuff we don't know about, although that may just be his naivety in thinking he can get a shedload of money for a loss making business.
Some of that stuff is just off the scale. Maybe Sandgaard should try and sell Speigel London Bridge while he is at it (charlton supporters consider it theirs !!). Mind you one thing that stands out is the bit about 'exerting influence' over the club. Of the 600,000 potential fans, 99.9% don'te exert even the interest to turn up and watch the games any more.
That prospectus is laughable. The brains trust behind it would lose a battle of wits with a cheese sandwich.
You also wonder if Spiegel is another deluded idiot, spending £11m for a loss-making business with hardly any assets. Maybe a couple of million top whack for Leaburn and that's it. And he's still looking round for backers. Hardly looks the one to bring success to The Valley, then what? He wants to sell the club for even more to cover his losses? Administration looks to be the direction we're heading atm, who knows when.
Thanks @Butterfield for posting the entire document It looks better than Katrien Meire's famous powerpoint presentation back in the day. She shouldn't have used crayons
Already posted elsewhere, but a decent summary of the current situation…. https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/spiegel-aiming-to-complete-charlton-athletic-takeover/ So tomorrow is the (next) big day…..
@Dick Plumb1 has it on good authority that Marc Spiegel won't pass the EFL fit & proper owners test. Guess that's the end of that then
Think I’ll wait until something actually happens one way or the other. So much of the leaked information turns out to be false that nobody should believe anything unless it comes directly from one of the parties involved and this latest rumour hasn’t.
I stand corrected. The Spiegel not passing EFL requirements development is indeed a rumour at this stage.
