I find it difficult to understand why the situation has been allowed to deteriorate to where we find ourselves today.

You know me and my conspiracy theories, well the only sensible answere to the above question, is that it is a deliberate ploy. Take the money & parachute payments and leave Uncle Pete with a championship/league 1 toy to play with
