Yeah of course! May have to be sly though, only fess up if it goes down well. Law firm, so not everyone has a sense of humour lol
If it goes badly, "Who would do such a thing? I think John did it, he's always been a jerk!" not that I've ever done that...
I married a Scouser. What the hell was a I thinking!! EDIT: She's great. The mother-in-law needs to be shot though.
I like you guys but the way the media sucks you off at every given opportunity is probably a cause for hate for most of us.
It seems funny you saying that as the majority of Liverpool fans would argue that the media **** us over at any given opportunity.
Really? I know you'll have your reasons as well but the protests for example. You guys do it and you are heroic, fighting for your club. We do it and we're a bunch of thugs and idiots. And Carroll is another one, when here he wasnt that good and was a wife beating piece of scum, then he moves and he's England's future and has turned his life around off the pitch. I'm sure it's different and I might be exaggerating but the London media hates us.
Interesting to hear how other people view the media with regards to different clubs. Personally, i think we tend to get ****ed over my the media in many ways. I guess due to our previous success we are easy targets - for example if we spend money on a new transfer we get slated for being ripped off and when another team buys a new player you hear nothing of the sort. Obviously we have our issues with The Sun, but their view doesn't count because it's not proper news. To the Carroll issue - i always thought that he was being praised as England's next star number 9 well before we bought him? The transfer fee has been a great reason for the media to have a pop at Liverpool - but realistically we got well over the odds for Torres and paid over the odds for Carroll, so all's fair in my opinion. Thanks though Smudge as i am interested to hear how other fans see it
Smudger, "the London media hates us. " The london media hates EVERBODY who is not a London club - Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United!
This definitely seems true from our perspective. The only ones they seem to bum are Man U and the London teams.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Rafa-Benitez-150m-squander-costly-flops.html We had ****s like this one criticisng us for claiming the owners weren't great Seriously though, it is a massive thing for Liverpool fans that the likes of Shankly and Paisley never got knighted yet lesser managers got knighted like Bobby Robson. Obviously as a Newcastle fan you'll claim he deserved it but for me Paisley deserved a knighthood ahead of Robson, so did Shankly.
It is very interesting to see both sides of the coin. On Carroll, the media pressured Capello into picking him because the squad was perceived as too old and too regular with the players. We always said he'd be spearheading England's attack one day but the media never picked up on it until he got linked to you guys and Spurs for stupid money. They cant accept we have a good player until a top 5 or 6 side wants them then they pretend they've been praising them all along. It's like after Carroll left for you, every man and his dog claimed to have played a major part in his development or that they tried to sign him a few years back as they "saw the potential".
