Many pundits are seemingly tipping us to struggle to survive this season due to losing the likes of Nolan, Barton and Jose.

But remember, these so called experts all expected us to go down last season because of a threadbare squad and lack of quality up front. But despite numerous setbacks over the course of the season the fans and the team stuck together and we finished a respectable 12th.

Many of them also seemed to think we were in the process of 'doing a Leeds' two seasons ago after relagation, but despite the anger at those running the club, the fans turned up in fantastic numbers and voice, propelling the team to the Championship title.

Now we're back in the same situation for the 3rd year running. All we can do is get behind the team through thick and thin, showing them that they are playing in front of the best crowd in the Premier League, despite the awful mis-management of the club. Lets pull together with the team and stick a massive two fingers up to all the southern journalists who can't wait to see us fail, starting with tomorrow against Fulham.

Newcastle United - the club that defies.

    HWTL!

Just goes to show what they know.

Armchair fans that don't go to the games and haven't experienced the atmosphere at SJP.

    Ho'way the lads!

We've not seen the best of our squad in the last 2 games, yet we've ground out results and won. Now if this was a top 4 team doing this they would all be on about how there is more to come and how well they handled playing bad. But, because it's us, it means we're tipped for relegation, despite playing badly and still getting results. When we play well I can't wait to see what our squad can produce <ok>

Also got to remember we were only a minute away from finishing 8th, had Choy not scored that goal in the last minute for Westbrom in last game of the season

Would have been 9th, but still would have been a very good position for a team in their 1st year up, I am genuinely more optimistic now that I was before the Arsenal game.
