100% this. There is easily enough individual quality in the NUFC squad to stay up and play some good football. Ashley will simply do what he's always done, crippling us with a managerial dinosaur who tries to fudge their way to 40 points.
This too. I know I've had a go at Bruce but the attitude was ****. I know he is the darling of our fans and rightly so, but the way that ASM gave up yesterday and didn't want to know after the first kick was pretty pathetic. I'm sure our fans will try to blame Bruce or suggest he needs protection etc. All fair to some extent, but lets not pretend or sugar coat this ****. He downed tools and bottled it. It happens with wingers but if that is last season, he dusts himself off. He doesn't tend vilified or picked on, but someone needs to pull him to one side and say "come on lad, that is not on, you're better than that"
Ahh so there it is Now the same rafa haters that wanted to compare have switched to blaming the players. Which is it?
You're all displaying the classic tell tale signs of club supporters that think their sqaud is better than it actually is... There isn't one top player in our side... All are pretty useless.. Even max who I live is pretty **** tbh.. Useless in the final 3rd and gets very few goals and assists.
You said its all about scraping points, staying up. It really ****ing isn't for some of us. Football to some fans is about entertainment first. That is why you support a team in the first place surely? I don't support Newcastle in the hope they will be playing PL football. I support them because they are my club, I like football and find it entertaining to watch when played the right way. Of course I want us to stay up. And yeah maybe if Bruce is manager, then that is the best you can hope for. But I'm not gonna sit here and pine for Rafa to come and bore **** out of me when I know full well its not necessary. Its neither necessary from an entertainment point of view, and its not necessary to stay in the division and amass enough points either. Ashley has simply conditioned our fans to expect precisely ****all from their relationship with the club.
I think to anybody with eyes that function, it was quite clearly both yesterday. I'd say set up was more to blame yesterday but pretending the players covered themselves in glory would just be not telling the truth to labour a point about Bruce.
I said that because it's true... You're the type of person that opens up a kinder egg expecting something good inside aren't you. Face the current reality... We have a poor coach, no time to **** about and need 49 points.. We need a better coaching system and manager before we try to learn to swim the way you ****ing want
A half decent manager keeps that side in the division. Bruce probably will. He got the job done last year with a worse squad. Its all massively unnecessary though. A good modern manager would easily keep our squad up and entertain us along the way. I just want to watch some good football that is in keeping with how the game is played now. Not Rafa's anti football, and not Bruce's 1990's ****.
I don't think he'll be around long enough. A takeover will instantly see him gone - his comments over the Summer highlight this. And that team weren't playing for Bruce, his "methods" clearly aren't progressing us and he seems to have fallen out with Longstaff(s), Lascelles, Schar, Ritchie and Almiron. ASM's not going to turn up as a left midfielder tracking back. Others are out of position and in the likes of Shelvey he's simply backing the wrong horse. Even if Ashley stays, he won't survive a capitulation - Ashley wants out and isn't about to sell a Championship club for £100m.
I don't think a takeovers coming until next summer even in the event it gets passed. Nufc is going to be on 3 points in te bottom 3 in another 2 weeks... The next 5 are all certain defeats bar maybe Burnley. There's no way the Saudis will say go on then while the clubs in such a state... Its all about somehow staying up and hoping something happens next summer
Dubravka Manquillo Lewis Schar Fernandez Hayden Hendrick ASM Almiron Fraser Wilson Dubravka Manquillo Willems Schar Fernandez Hayden Shelvey ASM Almiron Ritchie Joelinton Have to say I think the first one beats the second one. Even if you chose to play three centre backs I still think its better. Especially when you consider the time Almiron and ASM have had to settle. Plus last year's squad didn't really have the option of playing a 4, I think Hendrick has given that. I mean obviously if you are gonna play Hendrick as a winger and play Andy Carroll its a moot point however...
On the contrary the players seem to actually love him. I can only think he is giving them days off or tit ****s.
I don't I think it's just as crap.. Willems is better than Lewis and Wilson is better than Joelinton potentially. It's marginally better like I tried telling you all preseason... But oh no you wouldn't listen
I don't recall anyone thinking we were massively better than last season. I know a few got carried away by the 3 signings, but it was just the normal business you'd expect, and the minimum required to stay still. I thought, and still do, Hendrick was a very shrewd signing. However it looks like already we haven't a clue how to make the best of him.
That'll do, but there have been some talking about top half ffs.. The sides marginally improved in terms of depth, but the first 11 is still ****e... I have in my vault that I called that to be the case pre season and I'm merely waiting a few more games to drop the screenshots
We are the same. A squad good enough to stay if managed reasonably well, but unlikely to get above mid table. Of course we are capable of finishing 8th if we have a one off stellar season, but equally if we have a bad one we have the ability to get relegated. Same as ever really, we are an 11th-15th type of club under Ashley.
