Scurrilous feature on Radio4, suggesting the Haggis originated in England. The factis that the Haggis thrived in the Highlands for centuries due to its extraordinary ability to run round mountainsides at speed on its 3 legs. There was a mutant strain which migrated to the lake district, but it quickly died out, unable to survive in the temperate climate. Anything else is FAKE NEWS.

Don't think you will find any true Inglishman arguing that Haggis is in fact English!!!! Isn't the import of it still banned into North America?

Banned from the EU apparently, don't know abahrt America. They tried breeding battery haggis, but they smashed their way out of the cages, maybe that's why.

I convinced my kids that haggis have left legs shorter than the right so that they can graze on hills a d that they tumble down if facing the wrong way.

That has now been passed to the next generation

I heard that Haggis were implicated in the shooting of JFK and that is the reason why they are banned from USA & Canada

Yes, I heard this rumour. An investigation by Private Eye revealed that it was a fabrication by the American Burger industry who were worried about the superior quality of haggis meat affecting their obscene profits. It was quickly hushed up, and the ban still stands, but tbh American farming methods would be totally unsuitable for he wild haggis.

I hear of rumours on the dark web that JFK had an affair with a haggis...
And I'm not talking about Nancy Pelosi.

The Haggis is a noble creature, which would not indulge in this sort of bestiality:emoticon-0121-angry.

Maybe it was Donald Trump and Princess Diana then.
    They are easily confused.

Looks like the Republican Party is going to continue to embrace Trumpism.
He won't be successfully impeached, and it's looking more and more like Trump will run again for President in 2024.

His adversary will almost certainly be Kamala Harris.
    Not just political opponents.
Absolute polar opposites, sharing no common ground whatsoever.
And this time - whichever side wins - I don't think there will be a peaceful transition of power.
We are now on a count-down to the break-up of the United States of America.

All around the world now, the trend is towards self-determination and away from peaceful coexistence.
    The USA
    The EU
    The UK
All of these are (or will be soon) breaking down into differing ethnic or political regions.
The same is happening in Africa.
Only harsh dictatorships can hold huge and diverse regions together under one flag now - and that is only a temporary situation. No enforced rule by ideology has ever lasted much much than a lifetime.

It's a great pity we cannot learn to live together peacefully.
Throw a global post-pandemic economic collapse into the mix, and we'll all be going to War before too long.

With Trump out of the way (for good, I hope) there is little in the news except Covid. I don't think he'll run again, just threaten to, although Trumpism won't go away.

Interesting legal case coming up, with Dominion Voting Sytems sueing Rudy Giuliani for $1.3billion over his allegations that they changed votes from trump to Biden. Juicy.

I assume the burden of proof will be on Giuliani, as his claims were all over the media again and again. There are no guarantees in law, but I'd say he's up $hit creek on this one.

Presumably the evidence Giuliani will use in his defence will be the same as he would have introduced had he got his action to overturn the result off the ground. So, one way or another, the strength or otherwise of his claims is going to be tested.

When you think about it, Dominion have no option but to sue as Giuliani has traduced their name. No action could be seen as a tacit admission of something to hide.

It will be good to have the truth out in the open, whichever way the verdict goes.

Will Guiliani stand his ground alone, or will he claim that The Donald made him do it?
