Spot on its just that our fans don't want to end up having to admit Bruce was never the biggest problem! They argued that this squad should be doing better, so they're now forced to back Howe and blame the previous manager.
It smacks of small club mentality. We're a massive club and deserve a manager who has won the Champions League and managed European giants. Doesn't matter how **** he is as long as we can stroke our ego and tell other people how massive a club we are. It's crazy!
The only improvement I see right now is that the football is more positive and forward than under Bruce. All the players are massively lax and error prone, the worst moments being the goals we gave to City and Leicester, we can say it's cos he's inherited Bruce's rotten squad, but it's up to Howe to get these players focused and performing. I can't believe how the likes of Schar, Clark and Fernandez were so defensively tough under Rafa, and so error prone now.
I’m thinking if we double that bold word and the ratios of wins and draws stay they same then the questions have to be asked.
I think Clarke is past his best and finished. Schar does well in a good defence where he can be the footballing defender, but struggles when he is asked to be our best defender. Fernandez has been plagued by injury and probablybhas shot confidence after realising he is second choice to Lascelles for so long. They are also playing behind players who realise their time is up and just don't have the heart to fight for a place in the new squad. The ones on their way out are a bunch of cowards playing out their time and not caring that they are dragging the whole club down with them. They don't listen to what Howe is telling them because they already know he doesn't rate them. Howe should have the balls to drop them all if they do that and play the ones who want to prove themselves until replacements arrive - no matter how **** they are in the meantime.
If that happens we'll have 19 points after 30 games with only 8 to play. I think it'll be more than questions asked by that point.
If Anderson or White play and aren’t great, fair enough. But surely nobody would be asking the question “why didn’t he play Shelvey?”
If we get no new arrivals in time for Leeds and he dropped all of the players with a **** attitude and played youngsters instead then, even though we would probably get beat, Howe would probably deserve a standing ovation from the fans for doing the right thing!! He wouldn't get one though - he'd be slaughtered for losing another game
We were scoring more goals under Bruce.. Now under Howe we're scoring less and still conceding chance after chance. I hope he turns it around, but I find it amusing that I'm being told I'm being unfair from the people that bullied Bruce regardless of whether results were good or not for 2 and a half years.
There's a large number of fans that still rate shelvey because they've never defended on a pitch in their ****ing lives.
@Balldricks ballsack this was at 6ish last night. And I’m sure imposter further down this thread that it was being announced today.
