i dont get why - why would any legal firm that has represented celtic in the past have an axe to grind with rangers?

im sure you would accept that all legal firms have a duty to the law society wouldnt you? and they would be struck off if they were found to act in a biased manner

how is this different from dead lawyer fella (forget his name) representing celtic and allan mcgregor - do you think he is going to deliberately cock it up or create something just because he has acted for a rival??

    conspiracy bollocks

and i hate the term sporting integrity

I say let them run with it <ok>

When their club was being dismantled from within, they were beeling at the BBC "hatchetjob", when Minty was running up unsustainable debt, they questioned other clubs' ambition.

If recent history teaches you something, it's that these mongs will be angry about the wrong thing (usually inconsequential) while they're being taken for a ride.

Now, renew those season tickets and get complaining to the SFA - everyone knows that "Celtic's lawyers" will stitch them up and no blame can be attributed to anyone but Juninho <laugh>

Have to say I agree with Simon on the law society bit. This will attract huge media attention and they will be aware of the need to act in a highly professional manner over this.

WHAT!! But HM are supposed to be impartial, how come they're employing people with connections to Rangers? I'm away to e-mail the law society about this obvious conflict of interest.

The comments are fantastic. I particularly liked this from 'Gordon Newlands':

"Thank you for your investigative work and mostly for informing the reader about how corrupt Scottish football has become due to a bigoted minority religion in our country and their evil quest."

As we suspected all along - it all leads back to the Vatican. :bandit:<beyondparody>

So you reckon one of Scotland's most prestigious law firms will risk their standing by acting just to hammer the huns? Catch a grip. They have been selected due to their excellence. You should be glad the best in the business are doing it and not a company unqualified (remember when you rejoiced duff and phelps got to do rangers admin over the hmrc people?)

There are processes within law firms to ensure different departments can act for clients where there may be a conflict on paper. This is perfectly legal. It happens every day. They will not risk the wrath of the law society just to get one over on rangers. You really arent that important you know

I'll bet some do, they envision some sort of mad Fagin character on the board stealing pennies from blind orphans.

No, what I'm saying is that they are Celtics' Lawyer's and should not be used to investigate Rangers. Surely that's obvious ?

It's known in broader circles that the outstanding Martin Darroch the current CE of Harper MacLeod and a Celtic STH is widely tipped to replace Lawwell when he moves on. Why should he or his firm be allowed to investigate my Club ?

The cosy relationship between Celtic and HM is sufficient enough for claims of a conflict of interest to be made. Let the investigation go ahead with a Legal firm with no attachment to either Club. Does that sound fair ? Of course it does.

How would you feel if Donald Findlay was investigating Celtic on something as crucial as having trophies removed due to the cover up ? An extreme example I know but I'm sure you see the point I'm trying to make.

As for the rejoicing nonsense you speak of with regard to D&P I know of no Rangers fan that was happy with their appointment - I think you're making that up.
