Maltese Falcon The Big Sleep, Little Caesar and numerous others starring Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney and Edward G Robinson, one of my favourite actors.
Somehow apt that on page 770 of a thread about new owners we are discussing Laurel and Hardy. Nuff said.
Or that Bob Holness, he of Blockbusters fame, played the saxophone on Gerry Rafferty's hit Baker Street.
We were at a wedding in the summer at a 1930s theatre/cinema and as part of the reception, they showed 'Safety last' - complete with a guy playing the score on the Hammond organ. Our boys (8 and 5) were absolutely mesmerized!

That was required viewing at the time. My dad always had that on and the Burns and Allen show as he was a big George Burns fan. It is great being able to have a look at a lot of those old shows on YouTube. Was watching an old cop one about Scotland Yard and the chief character had to go to the doctor's. The first thing the doctor did was offer him a cigarette.
Amazing how one comment on Laurel and Hardy can lead a thread so far off topic. Maybe I should throw in another curve ball?
