What do fans honestly think they have to do to get rid of var, it will only be by fans getting together that will eventually get rid of it or get it to work correctly. Must point out I never watch the premiership only read what’s said on here, so I don’t give a toss really.

 

VAR is here to stay, the problem is getting people in who know how to use VAR, with people on the continent handling it well, why don't we employ foreign refs to oversee our VAR? or - employ them to ref over here? I know for one they'd not be scared into giving decisions against the big teams.

 

The standard of officiating in this country, at all levels, has declined massively over the last 10yrs imo. All they are doing with VAR is referring one clowns decision to another muppet who is equally as clueless and pissing fans and player off in the process.

Edit: and the safety net of a replay will NOT improve the standard of refereeing. It will make it worse.

 

Exactly, which is why I feel (anyway) that we need to employ people from outside the British game, it could improve officiating, and lead to less dilly-dallying over decisions. I tell you though, I read somewhere they're trialing 'Robot' linesmen at the World Cup? (Is this correct), and if that happens, oh boy VAR will be like a breeze, compared to that.

 

I'd rather they brought tennis, cricket or rugby officials in and gave them a crack at officiating it. Said it before, the refs are mic'd up - release the tapes and see what they say.

But, they wouldn't ****ing dare because its all set up for the big clubs.
