Home team score again, and it's 3-1 to the Cobblers. Poor defending. Goal from Chris Long in the 70th minute
Long range shot by Stuart O'Keefe tipped over the bar by Ingrams. Christian Burgess header just over the bar.
Well, how did we not win that game ?! Bad defending and poor goalkeeping by Luke McGee let us down. The match stats on BBC Sport say we had 54% possession / 21 shots with 9 on target (to the Cobblers 4 shots with 3 on target) / 7 corners (to their 3). The difference being that the home team scored goals with all three of their shots on target. We only scored one goal from 9 shots on target. O.K. their keeper made numerous brilliant saves from our players, but we really should have taken more of the chances we created. On a positive note, it sounded like both Matty Kennedy and Stuart O'Keefe had excellent matches
Hello Saints_Alive Good turn out from our fans, just a real shame we couldn't have rewarded them with a win.
Good updates Woop. Thanks. Pleased that we seemed to be far more at it 2nd half. Hasselbaink is a good manager and I am not surprised they have responded well to him. Pleased also that Ben Close got on another home grown player.
Consolidation to my mind. Would be nice to be there or thereabouts near the playoffs at the end of the season, but would accept if we finished mid table this season and go for it next season.
It's a bit up and down atm. If you want to make a bit of money pompey can't win away at night these days. Northampton were 11-4 on Bet fair.
