It was a mental game of footie that. Another cup tie of sorts with us on the end of big team bias (VAR) and some general sloppiness on our part. Cantwell had a first half shocker poor lad, as did the team overall. Enjoyable game though for the schizophrenic neutral in me. Cigars all round for the first EPL goal from a Cuban national! Onwards project NCFC!

Poor play on the first goal as two players failed to cut out the cross. The first pen should never have been given. My stream showed five different replays showing James leaned into Godfrey. Appalling. The defence went missing for the second goal. Thank goodness we had Krul, but now he looks to be injured, along with Lewis and Amadou. When will this blight end? Full credit to Onel for the steal then working free for the goal. Brilliant. At least that lifted a few spirits.

What does it say when our best outfield player, IMO, was a 33 year old DM and the top rated player of the game was our Keeper in a game we lost 1-3?
(If anyone thinks Onel was our best player, I wouldn't argue with that. I'm just making a point.)

 

No, it would have been a rout if we hadn't had Tettey and Krul was magnificent.

 

For me it says it is a project in the making. The fans at the end were magnificent. We were outdone by EPL elder statesmen. Decisions, marginal, obvious, will largely go against us. Tettey was good, but tired at the end. Krul was Conanesque.

 

Looks like a long old season where the odd point or two will come our way. Come on everybody let’s get real we are not going to survive in this league. Sorry if it upsets some or many, but it’s clear that few people are coming on to this site as they have nothing to say. Ok, let the excuses begin. I will not be signing on to this site for the rest of the season so will not read the flack that is surely coming my way.
