At this point any win would feel like a 9 pointer, but this is really our last chance to hold out hope of survival.
Farke said we need 7 wins from our last 16 . We haven't won since November 23rd , that seems so long ago now.
This is a curious season, as we have been playing well much of the time without getting many points. From here, that could well go on or perhaps we could win one and then another game, gain confidence and push on from there. The odds are against it, but it's what keeps us hoping from here on out. Lose tomorrow, though, and it's hard to see a future for this season.
DF's explanation of the transfer policy: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...fer-strategy-ondrej-duda-lukas-rupp-1-6471451 I can totally see why we need a quality number 10 like Duda, but I can't see any suggestion that he can cover at striker. It also seems that Rupp was signed at CM because he can cover at WR and RB. Given that McLean can also do that at LB, it's not that much advantage. Our striker options now are Pukki, Drmić and Idah. If Pukki gets injured, we have to hope Drmić stays fit or play Idah, which is fine but also means not sending Idah out on loan to get experience. Will he get much experience with the first team? It seems to me that we signed Rupp because we could afford him and couldn't afford a striker. If we go down, presumably Amadou, Fährmann and Duda will return to their clubs because we can't afford them and they don't want to play in the Championship. So do we replace them with Championship players? How many other players will also leave? Those thinking we can sail through to promotion again could face disappointment - just look at how many relegated PL teams are currently struggling to get back or worse, Sunderland, who are still in League One.
I think a false dawn would be worse - let's get it over and done with so we can look forward to winning more often next season (I hope). As you said in another post, we have been playing some really good stuff this season, and that has been very enjoyable - pity about the other end of the pitch
