I think tonight has to be considered a real positive, even if it's clear we're still far from the finished article. Sorensen clearly needs to be considered a full back, not CM - which is handy given the squad makeup right now. Gibbs might actually be our best DM currently. Sinani goal, assist, penalty - starting right winger going forwards? Confidence boosting goal for Sargent Nunez clearly not lacking confidence I think for Hull I'd like to see: Gunn Aarons Hanley Omobamidele Sorensen/McCallum Nunez Gibbs McLean Sinani Pukki Rashica
Still not sure if this was flukey or completely intended, the way he hit it, but it looked great either way
On the back of his cracker at Marseille, if he sticks 5 or 6 of these away this season they could bring valuable points
Just watched the full clip on the club Youtube channel, and someone's going to have to do something pretty special for that not to be goal of the season. Unbelievable strike! The way it comes off his boot you'd think it has more chance of hitting the corner flag than the top corner. From a video point of view as well it's perfect. The fans shouting "shoooot", the silence whilst it's in mid-air, absolute top corner and the goalkeeper motionless.
When he hit it, time stood still. The crowd and players (including the goalie) just stood and admired it in disbelief
Re. Sinani playing wide right, Max Aarons spoke earlier (after the Marseille game?) about how much he liked having Sinani ahead of him. What Danel lacks in pace, he makes up for with brain -- and his defensive awareness is good. DH is spot on IMO when he suggests those two as our starting wide right pairing going forward.
I'm happy to do it Dunc - I just never knew I was on the list. Sorry about the confusion, but well done for getting us through! Probably be Citeh or Liverpool in the next round.
Not sure if you saw but a few of us nominated you for the Carabu Cup as you don't usually do MDTs. Just try and get it posted a couple of days before kick off .
I can see that these are positives, but once again we struggled to get a draw at home. Yes we went on to win on penalties but the match itself was a 2-2 draw. The biggest plus for me was Sinani.
You're not on the official list, I think this was an honourary membership, but if you can win us cup games - including a worldy and a " panenka", nobody's going to disagree if you want to carry on with a cup run If you want to be added to the league list of MDT contributors, I'm sure nobody will object either.
