Our player ought to be ashamed of themselves, bloody disgraceful defending, utter dross at the back......
Well that's been coming for a while in all honestly and has been masked by our own goalscoring efforts.
To be honest, the writing was on the wall - or should I say on the team sheet - when you saw the defence …..
I was pissed off earlier how they were bouncing between a class act going forward early on to a Sunday league B team in defence later on ! On the bright side there wasn't much to play for and Watford might not want Martin anymore !
A Management Team double act of Tate and Rangel would be more attractive to me. I suspect they would build from the back in every sense
Well that was a good day out spoilt by another RM learning curve performance....held our own to a degree in the first half but yet again opposition manager changes at half time did for us as RM doesn’t do anything to nullify it....classic long kicks by Fisher up field to Ofatemi when Piroe had been subbed didn’t help....too many passes went astray but we had 70% possession so should have won with more shots.....not the case....so 8 unbeaten become no wins in 5
What I struggle with is that this was the 45th Championship game of the season and yet he still shows signs of not learning from previous matches - Mitrovic, Keiffer Moore and now Surridge. Why did he select that back 3? Where were Burns and Bennett? Players who have the height and build to take them on. Yes I know that Bennett is off, but we are still paying him £20k+ per week so why not use him? Why stick with the rigid dogma of a back 3? MK Dons have thrived this year - perhaps Martin’s replacement has focussed on sorting out the deficiencies of Martin’s Process - and that combination works. (Much like Sousa improved our defence after Bobby Brown Shoes) So please Russell, next season build on this year by sorting out the bloody defence
Yes seems strange that RM was the messiah at MK and in his absence they have thrived....I think he is very set in his ways and won’t move from his ideal of high possession stats at any cost....all season we have been crying out for leadership on the pitch which is sadly lacking with too many hunched shoulders on the pitch after having conceded goals.....yesterday’s long kicks to our short striker when Piroe had been subbed.....fantastic to have the double over CCFC but how bad were they to allow our poor side to trounce them.....then recently the Reading and Bournemouth fiascos where no other team would have relinquished three goal leads so easily....hope the pre season he so much missed is going to be the key to open the treasure trove we all want.....
I didn't see the game but it reads like another second half meltdown. The transfer window should be interesting. If RM gets the players he thinks he needs then there's no excuse next season.
