As i mentioned on the the restaurant thread, my mother and auntie are going into business together and opening up an American Diner down Bev Road in the old Dorchester Hotel. She is currently looking for singers or a band who can play 50's music who would be available to perform during opening week expected to be around July 4th. It could possibly lead to regular bookings. So if any of you are aware of somebody who could fill this role ask them to get in touch via the Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/libertysdinerhull
Barmby's we are a 60s/70s band so not quite what you are looking for. However, I can suggest one or two bands that would do a great job. PM later today? Cheers LT
Al Kilvo and Johnny Patt played here in Baton Rouge last month on the levee in Port Allen and round Louisiana a few gigs. They would be fantastic if you could get them. You can go into Gough And Davey and speak with Al if you want. Big city fan, might not be cheap but they can tear a room up still to this day. Playing Hull Truk 4th July though
Oh yeah and there are The Bop Cats rockabilly band friends of mine they are very good with that stuff too let me know and I will put you in touch with them. I have serious contacts
Barmby's Tan - I have PM'd you! The second contact should be able to provide a number of bands in that area. The first name I mentioned is IDEAL for what you want. Let me know if you need any more information. Good luck...
Oh wow, are they taking over the entire building? or are there other plans for it? It's a fantastic site that, a crying shame that it was being left to rot away.
"the last resort" from hornsea ? used to have residency at tofts. guitarist neil scott used to be in "the vets" many years ago. 50's r&r, good fun, they're on facebook.
Thanks for all of the help! Will be following it all up fairly quickly and will let you know the outcome, you never know, you might want to come watch! Regarding the other posts... The Dorchester Hotel is going to be two separate restaraunts. The side with the conservatory is going to the diner, whereas the other side is going to be an Italian. They're also converting the upstairs whereas the diner is going to be just the one floor for now but may be opening a function room upstairs. Car park will be shared with the Italian and new Dorchester hotel behind. The diner is also looking into hosting various events such as American car shows etc. Will make sure to keep you all updated as the opening event on independance day is looking like it's going to be a big one!
