Glenn Johnson has said that he thinks neutral fans would want Liverpool to win the league?

    What do you think?

Personally I think he's right. At the start of the season I said Chelsea would win with Mourinho back. Man city have been awesome at times. Arsenal unlucky to lose Ramsey and Walcott. Liverpool have blown me away. I thought rogers was a dick when he was at Swansea but they play fantastic attacking football!

Gonna be a cracking finish at the top and bottom!

Liverpool still have both Man City and Chelsea to play at home - it'll be those 2 fixtures that will decide it.

I did predict Chelski to win it at the start of the season so it wouldn't bother me greatly if they did.

I'd rather Hull City win it to be fair.

What do people mean when they say Liverpool winning would be good for football? Is it just to have 'a different name' on the trophy? For me it would be good to give them something else to talk about rather than how good they were 30 years ago.

If it's a money thing it's bollocks, they've spent as much as anyone over the years and their owners are still mega rich foreigners who know nothing about football.

Typical Big Club mentality - they're so ****ing obsessed with what they see as their rightful place at the top of the tree that they seem to think everyone else thinks they "deserve" to be up there, too.

Personally, the more success a club has had, the less I want them to have any more, so I actually couldn't give a **** whether Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal win it. Actually, I do, a little; I really hope Liverpool don't win it, simply because the arrogant ****s think we've all got a soft spot for them.

I'd always rather see teams who haven't had much success win the title - ideally, that would be Hull City, but we know that aint likely for some time - if ever - so I couldn't really give a ****.

It got me thinking about all-time success in English football though, and how I would decide who deserves a bit of glory the most, out of the current crop of Premier League teams, applying the notion that, the less success a club has had, the more they deserve some.

Here's the list of success, in terms of Title wins, FA Cup wins and League Cup wins. It's probably not perfect (much of it came from Wiki) but it aint far off:

    Titles FAC LC Total
    Man United 20 11 4 35
    Liverpool 18 7 8 33
    Arsenal 13 10 2 25
    Aston Villa 7 7 5 19
    Chelsea 4 7 4 15
    Everton 9 5 0 14
    Spurs 2 8 4 14
    Man City 3 5 3 11
    Newcastle 4 6 0 10
    Blackburn 3 6 1 10
    Wolves 3 4 2 9
    Sunderland 6 2 0 8
    Sheff Weds 4 3 1 8
    West Brom 1 5 1 7
    Forest 1 2 4 7
    Leeds 3 1 1 5
    Sheff United 1 4 0 5
    Huddersfield 3 1 0 4
    Portsmouth 2 2 0 4
    Preston 2 2 0 4
    Bolton 0 4 0 4
    Burnley 2 1 0 3
    Derby 2 1 0 3
    West Ham 0 3 0 3
    Leicester 0 0 3 3
    Ipswich 1 1 0 2
    Bury 0 2 0 2
    Birmingham 0 0 2 2
    Norwich 0 0 2 2
    Barnsley 0 1 0 1
    Blackpool 0 1 0 1
    Bradford 0 1 0 1
    Cardiff 0 1 0 1
    Charlton 0 1 0 1
    Coventry 0 1 0 1
    Notts County 0 1 0 1
    Southampton 0 1 0 1
    Wigan 0 1 0 1
    Wimbledon 0 1 0 1
    Luton 0 0 1 1
    Middlesbro 0 0 1 1
    Oxford Utd 0 0 1 1
    QPR 0 0 1 1
    Stoke City 0 0 1 1
    Swansea 0 0 1 1
    Swindon 0 0 1 1

There are just two clubs in the current Premier League who don't feature on that list: Fulham and Hull City. However, Fulham won the Championship in 2001 (or whatever it was called then) and also the Intertoto Cup in 2002.

Therefore, the Premier League team most deserving of success - not just in our minds, but statistically, too! - is Hull City ;)

Edit: apologies for the way the list has come out a bit cramped up. In edit view it's nicely spaced out, but it won't have it once you post it, for some reason.

Oh just **** off will you?

You were probably applauding Stevie G as he trotted over to take corners at the KC...

Agreed with you for those points. On the basis I think Mourinho is a great personality and he makes me laugh, I'd go with Chelsea out of the likely contenders.

I had a bet on Friday last with a lady at work on who we think will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd. I said Liverpool, Chelsea & Man City.

Bet is for a three pack of creme eggs. So hope Stevie G and JT don't let me down.

    Hate Liverpool,
Hate John Terry (something about his face) and most of chelsea's team. And their fans.
    Hate Arsenal fans
Hate everything Man City stands for.

hmmm... On balance probably Arsenal. Admire that they've stuck with wenger throughout all the trophyless years and are working well with young, developing talent.
