RIP Charlie, played against him several times in the old "Hull Thursday league" in the early 1970's, when he turned out for Humberside fire brigade, which he had joined after his footballing days were over, condolences to his family .

Terrible, light aircraft don’t usually fly after dark, I wonder if they were trying to get back home instead of landing before dusk
Flying light aircraft in the evening just as the sun is setting is extremely dangerous. JFK Junior and his wife were killed when he couldn't make out the horizon and thought he was still at an high altitude, but crashed into water.
I'm sure the details will follow. I only know them because I worked at the Hedon Growers site in Burstwick for 17 years. Very sad event.
Lost my dad a few days back, RIP Ron! he supported City for over 75 years through thick and thin. Hull City was perhaps the strongest personal bond between me and my dad as I moved away from the area over 45 years ago to follow my career. That said I bought 3 Founders Club season tickets when we moved to The KC, and me, my son and dad came together every two weeks or so to watch the club which became a cornerstone of our relationship. We shared many good times, and some not so good both firstly at Boothferry Park and then The KC, and it was only fitting that the family adhered to his wishes to have his ashes scattered at The KCOM, which we did on Tuesday this week. I imagined he would be effing and jeffing at the timing of his ashes been scattered given the current state of our club, but that just made the day a little more accepting knowing his love of our club hadn't diminished irrespective of where we currently find ourselves. To anyone else who has lost a loved one recently, tell them to look out for a new member up there driving a Jag, his health wasn't the greatest of late, so the risk of crossing the road, particularly if you are wearing another football teams colours has risen significantly!
Awe, sincere condolences Cheshireles, fantastic memories that no one can take away from you. Let's hope that he can make a big difference as 12th man for us on Saturday. RIP Ron.
