This is going to be the most important line-up of the season essentially.

I'm hoping for Santon and Benny to start but I can definitely see Pardew playing Best for some flick-ons up front.

(If he does play Best, expect him to score. It would be the ultimate irony.)

Never do against this lot, the fact we ain't bet them since 2001 doesn't help like.

This is the Newcastle team the last time we beat them.

    Given
    Griffin
    Elliott
    Dabizas
    Brown
    Solano
    Acuna
    Lee
    Robert
    Shearer
    Bellamy

Brown? I think you mean O'Brien! But what a team that was. I wouldn't take the defence (possibly not, and I never thought I'd say this, Given either), but that was a quality side.

Yes I did mean O'Brien, the own goal must have be stuck in my brain when writing. Oh and thanks for pointing that out.

We won't start our best players so we can only hope for an injury to to Best or Shola and Raylor early on.

    I'm hoping for this

    Krul
    Simpson Willo Colo Santon
    Obertan Cabaye Tiote Jonas
    Ben Arfa
    Ba

If we got for this and play short passing game and not just direct hoofball, I can see us doing well.

    But I can see this

    Krul
    Simpson Willo Colo Raylor
    Obertan Cabaye Tiote Jonas
    Ameobi Ba

I've decided I'd like Ba and Best up tops and Santon on the left with Benny left wing . Jonas has been **** for too long.

Entirely agree with this. This isn't exactly a game that will be disastrous to lose and this lineup is clearly what everybody besides the coaching staff think should start, so I don't see why Pardew doesn't just go for it.

Of the 19 League games this season we've played a 4-4-1-1 formation 4 times.

I have giving up making bold predictions because they always let me down. Wayne Rooney will be raring to go and all I can see is a horrible backlash from Man Utd. This could be our team vs theirs:

    Krul
    Simpson-Colo-Willo-Santon
    Obertan-Tiote-Cabaye-Jonas
    Ba-Best

    De Gea
    Rafael-Ferdinand-Smalling-Evra
    Welbeck-Jones-Carrick-Nani
    Rooney-Hernandez

Sorry but I can't see us getting anything tonight. :(

tbh lets hope obertan has a good game considering he's highly motivated against manure to prove his doubters wrong

Its awful to say (and would be the first time that I have done anything like it) but I think that a Man Utd win at 4/5 is pretty good odds. May stick a couple of quid on them! I feel dirty!!!!!!!
