Well... I had enjoyed seeing Coutinho play thought he had a great future ahead of him.

He has now been given the kiss of death:

    Pochettino:
Not quite as bad as most news sources have put the quote calling him "like Messi" but close enough to be a kiss of death.

(He did also add Coutinho has a lot of work to do yet to be that good).

We know what happened to the last next Messi(Cole) we had. The next Zidane(Biscan), the next Vieira(Momo), the next Michael Owen(Lindfield), the next Derek Asamoah(N'Gog).

    You're wrong.

    Zidane was the first Biscan.

I'm just glad it wasnt anyone connected to liverpool that said it

i do have high hopes for him though. He comes across as the sort of person that will put in the application required to get the most out of his raw talent.

I just know his nickname is the assasin and I think he was compared along with Gio dos santos and Bojan as I think they all came up around the same time. Unfortunately for all three....

I'm gutted it wasn't someone connected with Liverpool :(.

Why do people say such things, messi arguably the best player to have ever lived. No one is really like him.

I wish people would read the actual quotes, in context, rather than the attention-grabbing headlines.
Saying that he has similar qualities to Messi is not the same as saying he is as good as him.
