So, today probably be the day. I know what team I'd pick but have literally no clue what the **** Solskjaer will do. Suffice to say, it shouldn't have Pogba in it, it shouldn't have Matic in it, it shouldn't have Lindelof in it and it should have Shaw in it, so they will all probably play. They'll probably win, it'll be a new dawn, and then we'll lose to the Turks in the next CL game.
All said and done, we played well against a good Everton side. Bruno was a worthy man of the match winner, Maguire seemed more like his old self with some solid work in defence and Fred had a good game (again) as did McTominay. I thought we responded well to the early goal and Axel Tuanzebe demonstrated how much of an upgrade he is on Luke Shaw. Nice to see Cavani get off the marke too. Why can't we play like this at home?
Said it before When the trigger is being pulled Ole pulls out a performance which makes it difficult for Woodward and the GGs. Unsackable.
Yup! Indeed! Woodward is the problem here. Great win for the team and Ole. Much needed win to avoid crazy worst records too. This team is full of talents that on their day, they can beat anyone. It’s such a shame they can’t get consistency. Pogba should never start a game for us again.
Evidently we are on our best run of away form for 27 years................. Luke Shaw seems to have suffered a long-term hamstring injury - (at least now we have Telles or Tuanzebe to fall back on rather than just young Williams) and Rashford has a shoulder injury. Ole is right to have a rant at the PL too - how can we play in the CL on Wednesday night yet have an early Saturday kick off while City and Liverpool played Tuesday but have fixtures tomorrow - it doesn't seem right. One more win and we'll be up to 7th just three points behind the leaders........................
If Ole is angry about our fixtures at the minute - perhaps he had better have a look at December !!! Manchester United20:00Paris Saint Germain Saturday 5th December West Ham United v Manchester United Tuesday 8th December RB Leipzig v Manchester United Saturday 12th December Manchester United v Manchester City Tuesday 15th December Sheffield United v Manchester United Saturday 19th December Manchester United v Leeds United Wednesday 23rd December Everton v Manchester United Saturday 26th December Leicester City v Manchester United Monday 28th December Manchester United v Wolverhampton Wanderers
I quite like the games coming weekly, especially the CL games. And if I thought having less games would make a difference in terms of our player performances I might actually give a fck. But I don't.
I think the kick off time was the problem today, not that we had an actual game. They'll have to get used to midweek/weekend, but he's right that if your European game is the Wednesday, maybe your league game should be the Sunday? And if you play in Europe the Tuesday, your league game is Saturday. This all sounds fair enough and easily arranged to me.
Ole is trying to make a point but when United and others played in the Europa on Thursdays the league matches were on Sundays. So very similar but it does seem fairer for those playing on Tuesday to play on Saturday. On the question of Ole pulling the right performance whenever the noose is round his neck, I would suggest to Woodward to summon Ole and tell him that he’ll be sacked the next time his team loses or draws a premiership game
Interesting fact Klopp first 100 games with Liverpool 50 wins Ole first 100 games with United 55 wins Are we being entitled cryarses too soon?
Shows that stats can be used to push any point of view. It is the trajectories that would be more important. I suspect the shapes of the graphs of victories against time will look very different. Not that I've called for ole to be replaced. Yet. The team currently reminds me of one under Ron Atkinson. On their day they could beat anyone. But then they could lose against any team in the league. Bad performances: Crystal Palace, Brighton spurs, arsenal, Istanbul Good performances: Newcastle PSG leipzig Everton The paradox (or is it now the normal?) Is that the bad performances were the ones we expected to do well. The good ones are the ones we had little expectation of. We probably have high expectations of beating Istanbul at home. Does that mean we are ****ed in the CL?
All ye need to do is somehow make Ole feel like his neck is on the block every game no matter how well you're doing
Arsenal, the team that beat us at home a week ago, has lost to Aston Villa just a week later. The week before they'd lost to Leicester. The week before that lost to Man City.
This whole season is completely arse about face and anyone that dismisses the significance of home crowd advantage - indeed, the absence of any spectators, simply doesn't understand the game.
