Sky - Manchester United have turned down a bid from Everton to take Chris Smalling on a season-long loan. Ole Gunner Solskjaer sees the former England international as an integral part of his defence, alongside Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
Everton have enquired about the best of the rest as far as our centre halves are concerned (bar Axel). We should just tell them can have Rojo AND Jones instead.
Who the **** is Inaki Williams? If Woodward spends £88m on that ****ing plonker on deadline day then we truly are ****ed forever.
Inaki Williams is far from being a plonker!!! He is a star forward in Athletic Bilbao´s forward line. Not an out and out striker, but he does score goals, is very skilful and pacy. He can play centrally or on either flank. Perhaps this move will help to get him into the Spanish National team as Athletic players are not really noticed. If you get him, love him take care of him and I hope he helps you get plenty of trophies. PS: You may have gathered that I am a big fan of Inaki Williams. Athletic will miss him.
No idea, never heard of him. Had to google him and he's played 38 league games for Athletic Bilbao, that's it. We'll probably get Llorente today for **** sake.
You live out there don't you? So this kids a proper prospect then? Even so, 38 games doesn't really equate to an £80 million player!
He’s 25 and I’ve never heard of him then bang.... £88m. Not interested in this lad sorry, time to develop our own, Williams only sets Greenwood back at a time when Greenwood’s on the rise to stardom.
Yeah, agree on the last bit. He needs to be a first team player now. Rashford, Martial and Sanchez are now our senior forwards. One needs to become a 25-30 goal striker, the others get fifteen or so each.
I've watched Williams over here, he's a mid table PL talent at best. You certainly wouldn't want Woodward paying out that sort of money and then have to exclude the likes of Greenwood who has done more than enough to merit a start. One lump of lard gone, now we just need to find takers for Red Card Rojo and Jones and find someone with some energy and guile for midfield - not going to happen though.
We might get to loan out a centre half or two, hopefully. Cant see us getting the other though. We tried to smoke Eriksen out by stating he wants to go to Spain. If he really wants to contradict that and come to us, he will now need to make that statement. Otherwise, forget it.
You have Pogba who was tremendous for France in the World Cup, and Mata. A really motivated Pogba would be wonderful.
He´s played 200+games and netted 48 times. Not the out and out goal scorer but a trememdous all round forward who Will also put in a shift when his team are defending. He has been playing in a very ordinary Athletic team, so of course he is going to look ordinary at times. If he is signed by United he could do at United what Salah has done at Liverpool.
Yeah, what I looked at this morning was only last seasons appearances! Even so, he's not on anybody's radar at all so clearly not a much sought after player. That fee is surely negotiable downwards.
If the lad had been any good at all he would have been signed by AM, RM or Barca. That he's plying his trade in mid table La Liga (think Championship) speaks volumes.
Personally he is a much better player than the former Chelsea man, Montero, much better than Benzema, better than the RM striker who is now injured. in fact the best Spanish striker except Costa. Why he is not picked to play for Spain is because of the team he plays for.
kind disappointed with lack of Lukaku replacement we struggled at back and at front too scoring goal .. we sort one problem but not 2nd one I think our youngsters are bright but is already a young attacking 3 we have upfront will be tough to be in top4 without a markee striker ..
having watched all but one of the pre-season games I'm quite pleased that we are rid of Lukaku and can now give the youngsters a chance. Greenwood has to be a certain starter and with the introduction of Chong and Gomes we will have a completely transformed attack. With Obi Wan Bissaka and Maguire we have a more assured defence and we should be playing more in the opponents half this season than last.
