The Sunderland guy I work with will be avoiding me! especially as hes reminded daily for telling me to **** off when I said Pullis would have been a better option then Poyet.
Spurs win 5-1, Arsenal lose 3-0 and all is right with the world! They made that so easy for us and you can see that their morale is just totally gone. Could get a lot, lot worse before they pick up any points, looking at their fixtures. Fair play to the fans that traveled down and supported that weak effort, though. **** weather to go with an equally **** performance and they were in good voice.
It looks like we could still mathematically win the league (I havent looked at the who plays who scenarios, so may well be wrong), but if it is the case than I cant remember being 5 games to go with that possibility for quite a while..
Both he and Ade have been superb. Kane's been good, maybe even very good. His finishing has been crap, but his ability to trouble the defenders has been really outstanding.
"It looks like we could still mathematically win the league (I havent looked at the who plays who scenarios, so may well be wrong), but if it is the case than I cant remember being 5 games to go with that possibility for quite a while." Even our sh*te season has "echoes of glory" .
At least we've made a decent start. But we really have got to start winning games by 10 goals soon to keep the pressure on.
And remember in this dream scenario, the other teams would be knocking in a few against Liverpool too, so therefore maybe 10 times 9-nils will do it! EDIT: Beaten to it by PNP!
Stoke are our highest placed remaining opponents. We could still have a say in the relegation battle, at least.
I think we all saw that coming after the first half, we were creating too many chances to keep missing them. Full praise to Sherwood giving Kane a start and setting us up well today. Without wishing to kick Sunderland when they're down but they were awful today. I feel for their fans because there's been plenty of money thrown around at that clubs and it's been squandered with bad decisions. Hopefully they start their incredible relegation survival by beating Everton on the weekend and if they could do us a favour and beat them by about 20 goals then all the better. I still don't think we have a chance of top 4, Arsenal are strong favourites for me but 5ths there if Everton drop points in their big games. We might do well to finish 6th though, United have improved and I can see us dropping a couple of points in the run in. Good to see another blatant penalty turned down for us today, would've been given 12 times out of 10 if Suarez had hit the deck but of course we all know that they even out and that we don't get the ball in the box enough to get penalties. That's the excuse they give, right?
