Sherwood smiling at that result.... We conceded 3 goals to a team fighting relegation Tim - ****ing useless
Well we really shot ourselves in the foot there with our start (again) didn't we? There were some very poor defensive performances from many but I think the system and personnel used were wrong today as well which wasn't helping those at the back. Credit to the lads though for getting back into it, and arguably doing enough to have won it in the end. Great entertainment for a neutral, not for us.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. We are, quite rightly, at the mockery of all our so called rivals. What a **** up of a season. Somehow, our fearless Chairman has managed to turn us into a laughing stock. £100+mill spent and we've gone backwards at alarming speed. I suppose the writing was on the wall last year, with only Bale papering over the cracks. We're beginning to rival The Mousers at their most calamitous. What's that song?...."Things can only get Better" I ****ing well hope so...
Spurs players today.,played as if they would struggle to pass a simple IQ test set for 10 year old's. I have rarely seen this amount of collective unintelligence from one team in the space of 90 mins in the prem. We were lucky in that WBA decided to defend their 3-1 lead at half time. Had they gone in for the kill., Spurs would be looking very very stupid right now.
I'm actually a bit conflicted too. I think we all are. I'm very happy because we came back from 3 down away from home and arguably even did enough going forward to win. But I'm still pissed off that we seem to be starting so so slowly and being very open and slack at the start of games, and that the defence is hardly improving as the games go on. West Brom have some handy players but we gave them far too much help. And as I said in my previous comment there seems to be a lack of structure and direction in our defensive (and offensive at times) play which is severely hampering us.
Kaboul= finished Rose= hopeless Naughton= not quite good enough These players should not be starting games in the prem and are at the heart of some of the defending problems currently at Spurs.
As bad as I find Naughton, especially on the left, he seemed to offer a bit going forward today. Backup for the right fine, but I agree not a starter. In fact that whole back 4 seem like backup/europa league group stage rather than first choices.
Does everyone agree with this? I am not sure on the subject, he is a bit of a disaster recently. However he has played pretty regularly and not long ago that was what we hoped for. If his knee is standing up to regular football, surely he will get better?
I am confident that my 4 year old could do a better job than Sherwoodie. Honestly, I bet a monkey, picking names at random from a hat, would do no worse than Sherwoodie. Is there really any true Spurs fan who believes we should keep him for another season?
We should have won that with some ease even after the appalling start. In almost every game Sherwood has presided over we have started slowly and the opposition was all over us. NOTE if managing you need to notice these things and plan to stop it happening again. First priority should surely be to start very fast and get in the faces of the opposition because they will surely have noted our failings and take advantage if we don't We need a manager who has an eye for detail and carries lots of clout with the players, I don't think we have one at the moment.
