you are right they were pathetic towards the end of last season having played excellently up until then. Have to say was surprised to see Tandy still there and to sign a new contract. Think he has taken them as far as they can and the squad is better than it performs.
Tandy didn't sign a new contract - it was signed 2 years ago, and ends in 2020 The number of injuries caught up with them towards the end of the season - 15 (or was it 17) players out for the semi-final match against Munster.......
Have I missed read this then. probably have. just it wa dated august 2017 http://www.planetrugby.com/news/tandy-signs-on-until-2020/
Disappointing to say the least. At one point we had had 64% possession yet were losing 10-24. Munster next Saturday, followed by Treviso (away) then a visit to South Africa. Need 2 wins from those fixtures.....
Sorry Tandy not good enough another poor performance and another coach simply not getting the best out of his players. The guy needs to go and bring someone in who can actually get them playing to their potential or are we happy to be an average club that is underperforming. I cant remember the last time we had a good head coach all of them in recent years are just so negative.
The Scarlets carrying the flag for the Welsh Regions at the moment. They are playing some great rugby.
Disappointing result yesterday. We have no dog in us and no fight when things go wrong, which is happening a lot while we wait for Sam to grow up. We've got some nice players and a bunch of youngsters in the pack but they've got to get some mental fortitude and soon because any aggressive team will beat us easily.
Alun Wyn had a testimonial dinner at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London this evening. (I believe it is the site of the original Whitbread Brewery). It was a very good evening. Alun Wyn spoke well. He was joined for a Q&A by Jonathan Davies (Foxy), James Haskell, Kyle Sinkler & Ken Owens on stage. David Flatman was the compere and Martin Bayfield did the auction*. For a photo shoot, some former Lions went on stage including Jamie Roberts, Adam Jones & Ryan Jones. Gatland & Howley were in attendance, as was the great Michael Lynagh. * - The auction raised c£40,000 for AWJ's chosen charities.
7,300 saw a pretty poor match today with Munster deserving winners. Ospreys go to Treviso next week and travel from there, via Frankfurt, to South Africa. Really need 2 wins to get the confidence back - next 3 games after that are Scarlets, Clermont and Saracens
Team to play Treviso tomorrow 15 Dan Evans 14 Keelan Giles 13 Ben John 12 James Hook 11 Jeff Hassler 10 Dan Biggar 9 Rhys Webb 1 Nicky Smith 2 Scott Baldwin 3 Ma’afu Fia 4 Bradley Davies 5 Adam Beard 6 Olly Cracknell 7 Justin Tipuric (Capt) 8 Dan Baker REPLACEMENTS 16 Scott Otten 17 Gareth Thomas 18 Rhodri Jones 19 Alun Wyn Jones 20 James King 21 Tom Habberfield 22 Sam Davies 23 Kieron Fonotia
As I said months ago. Steve Tandy was a bang average player and an even worse coach. We will not improve with him in charge. We've gone backwards alarmingly under him.
