Yes: 5th: £1.5m 6th: £1m If Ireland fail to win the Grand Slam, the £1m prize for that gets distributed evenly between the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth placed teams: £200k each
The ref is standing right there, as well as a video ref That's worse than the red that was given (should have been a yellow). Well done Ireland though, best team. Saying that, if they'd played France this weekend I think they would have lost. As for Wales... great first 20 and a decent last 20 but blown away in between. I'm more optimistic after that game though.
The Under 20s were thrashed 67-17 by France last night: literally, a case of Men against Boys - the French were huge. France should have had 2 red cards - Argentinian ref only gave yellows. Both were worse than the English red card the previous day. The first incident was in the first minute, whilst the second was a few minutes from the end. That said, the French would have won comfortably with 14 men - indeed, they dominated the 10 minutes whilst the player (Hooker) was off the field, scoring 2 tries.
Could mean a semi-final slot for either England or Wales - a quarter final match between them is possible
This is the Lions team - plus bench - that Warren Gatland has said he would select based on this season’s Six Nations: Gatland's Lions team: Hugo Keenan (Ireland), Duhan van der Merwe (Scotland), Huw Jones (Scotland), Sione Tuipulotu (Scotland), James Lowe (Ireland); Jonathan Sexton (Ireland, capt), Jamison Gibson-Park (Ireland); Ellis Genge (England), Dan Sheehan (Ireland), Tadgh Furlong (Ireland), James Ryan (Ireland), Maro Itoje (England), Jack Conan (Ireland), Josh van der Flier (Ireland), Caelen Doris (Ireland). Replacements: George Turner (Scotland), Andrew Porter (Ireland), Zander Fagerson (Scotland). Jonny Gray (Scotland), James Ritchie (Scotland), Alex Mitchell (England), Owen Farrell (England). Robbie Henshaw (Ireland). Not a Welshman in sight - can’t disagree with that at present Here’s the full article if you’re interested: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/warren-gatland-names-lions-test-26532679
I only saw the second half but Saracens always looked the more likely but a missed opportunity for the Os, certainly. Those consecutive throw-ins that went to Sarries players, one of which was the gifted try, killed the game. Awful penalty count as well.
