Well I thought it was "same old". No possession first half and what tiny bits we had we kicked away. The defence might have been better but there were some gaping holes at times. We had some ball second half but no attacking intent/clue whatsoever. Our try was luck more than judgement and there was absolutely no way we could win that game. We lost by less points than usual but we still lost and it was never in doubt. I was all for giving Pivac some time but it's blatantly obvious now that there is no direction at all. Not even a hint of one. Get someone else in now, for the Six Nations.
We finished 5th - woohoo! We also finished 5th in the Six Nations - woohoo! Say what you like about Pivac but he's instilled consistency
The win yesterday guarantees that he will be in charge come the Six Nations..... The trouble is that with Rob from Geog in charge, with Phillips as interim CEO, who has the courage to put out ‘feelers’ now in case we have another disappointing Six Nations ....
I think it's almost guaranteed we'll have a bad Six Nations. I've seen absolutely zero progression. I haven't a clue what he's trying to do.
Could be ‘good’ news for that Swansea based company that has launched ‘smart’ mouthguards that record - in real time - the effect/impact of all (concussive) collisions.
It's a tough one to comment on. On one hand they've got actual damage from playing but I'm guessing they'd have still played knowing the risks in advance. Perhaps players should sign a waiver with their contracts otherwise all sport's going to end up non contact.
We choose to play Rugby, .... We choose to play Football, .... We choose to play Cricket. ....... We don't have to!. We don't have to be gymnasts, hockey players, or Boxing. ....... but if things go wrong , we try to blame everything but ourselves, although we had the choice to take up safer past times . How the times have changed, ....... People try and claim on everything these days.
The issue is that, to date, Rugby’s ‘defence’ has probably been that they didn’t know if/when a player is concussed. If there is now technology available to give real time information, then that defence has ‘gone’ - if, going forward, clubs/Unions choose not to use such technology, then that could open them up to potential charges of (alleged) negligence.
Today’s teaser. I went to the recycling centre this morning to get rid of some Christmas rubbish and the guy who got out of the car next to me was a former Welsh rugby international. He must live close to me as I have seen him before in Sainsbury’s but that’s by the by. He played in the second row and was an Essex born player who had become one of the first players to qualify for Wales on the grounds of residency, having played for the Turks for several seasons. His big claim to fame is that on his debut he flattened his opposing lock with a haymaker of a punch but amazingly stayed on the field and Wales went on to win the match. Who is he?
I tried to upload the forward pass which resulted in the Turks’ winning try but the file was too large to upload
That must be Tony Copsey - I was at the match in Ireland when he floored Neil Francis (I think from memory). Also from memory, I think Pinky (Stuart Davies) scored a try on his debut for Wales that day.
Yeah, I didn't get how that wasn't even reviewed, it looked pretty obvious to me. Saying that, some poor game management by the Ospreys, they should have won.
