Hi All, Does anyone know of a good Conveyance Solicitor in Hull? Any advice or recommendations would greatly be appreciated. the winning suggestions gets an invite to the housewarming and a lifetime of 'Likes' to all posts on this forum.
We found Williamsons very good when we moved house http://www.williamsons-solicitors.co.uk/residential-conveyan/residential-conveyancing/
We were recommended Williamson's and they are supposed to be very good. We used murray hills in Beverley (Nicky mounsor) and she was amazing. She would always get straight back to you. Piece of mind
We have moved three times in the last 15 years and of the three moves the one handled by Williamsons was outstanding, if we move again in the local area I wouldn't consider using anyone else.
Hi All, Thanks for the suggestions. In true me fashion, I have ignored all advice and took a punt on Burstalls. Mortgage adviser recommended and the price seemed reasonable.
Good luck, a friend recently used a mortgage advisor suggested solicitor & they truly lashed thing up. Often these advisor's get some sort of commission for their recommendations :-(
Yeah, I guess they might be. Others at work have said good things about them. Guess its a lottery, how bad can they be should they be awful, I will internet warrior the **** out of them until the crumble!
They do receive a referral fee for passing people on to solicitors, same with some estate agents, having said that if they are receiving complaints about the solicitors they are referring to they will likely end the agreement as it looks bad on themselves for having recommended them. Most will do a fine job, there are bound to be some complications with some people and they will no doubt blame the solicitor (rightly or wrongly). Out of interest which solicitors was it that messed things up? I completely understand if you don't want to say.
Burstalls are fine, very professional. A lot of solicitors just want to get the job done, but when some clients call several times a day they can understandably get frustrated and that is when they don't take calls etc as they end up getting no work done, most will have several clients at once but people think they are the only one. It takes time to buy a house and most of that time is waiting for searches from the land registry or communication from the other side, people don't seem to understand this and expect updates every day when mostly there is nothing to report, so as long as you don't pester them all the time you should have no problems.
