I have always liked that combo, Donacien flying forward and feeding Aluko. Great partnership.

 

But we made that happen right? Unlike the Wycombe game where they cocked up we forced that error with excellent attacking play.

 

We've started with a real intensity to our play

That’s the issue; when he’s not scoring worldies he’s a bit of a passenger. There has to be a happy medium in this team?

Crewe are pretty shaky at defending but look decent when they attack. We started at a fast pace and scored an early goal, Aluko tricking his way into the box and then forcing a deflected own goal from his square pass across the keeper's line. We've been in control of the play and the second goal right before the half time whistle will give the team confidence to come out second half and really dominate a Crewe side that look like they will concede again at some point.

Fraser has done ok next Morsy, Aluko has been bright down the right and Chaplin just gets everywhere along the front line with plenty of running and harassing of the Crewe defenders. Celina has been good on the left and Clements and Donacien are both joining in and contributing to our attacking play. Walton has claimed some high crosses and free kicks and it's clear we should try and sign him permanently. Edmundson is solid and Nsiala has actually looked comfortable today.

Looking forward to the second half and more goals.

 

For me there is no regular starting place for luxury players like Celina, not in this division!! Yes he can pop up with a worldy but he can also go missing for several games on the trot. Edwards has undoubted quality but there is no end product, it's all very well being pretty on the eye but there needs to be more than that!!

 

Completely agree. Let’s not forget this is Crewe who are bottom.
