Oxford playing it around nicely, on top at moment. We need possession.

Very open game, both sides could have scored 2-3 goals. Oxford play a nice short passing game, and v much in form. We have yet to get our forwards really threatening, against well organised defence.

Clemence done well in his debut game. Very exciting for him. Both Edwards & Celina missing that final sharp touch at times.

Their manager fumes about a non pen, and earns a yellow, ha!

Take a point from this tbh. Thanks to Bucky I am watching this live from Holland!

Town on top now, Edwards drifting inside effectively. Clemence and Edwards nice pairing building.

Gaffer, I take my hat off to Buckys generosity in taking you to Holland and sorting out a live stream for the game !! ( I assume you are off all your meds and not sat in the corner of a sanatorium completely delusional)

Ha Ha! No, got a good iFollow live stream and anybody's game still, with 5 to go. Aluko always brings that extra zip and delivers final pass, unlike Edwards. I agree, like to see Fraser.

Evans not at his best today. Gives ball away too often.

Well a point is a point.

defence we’re excellent to a man. Even Toto was solid. Clements had a great debut against a quality winger. Edmundson was outstanding.

then it’s not great news. Edward’s was in headless chicken mode again, burns never got any runs at his man and Celina just Looks ineffective basically at this level. His passing and movement isn’t clever enough, his pace and tricks aren’t enough to outsmart players so he just achieves little.

The campaign to get Fraser attacking from midfield seems to be gaining momentum. I think we’d be better in a 433 with these players. Evans ans Morsy aren’t getting much done as a pair but as a three they’d have a nice balance. Sack off Edward’s, use Chaplin and Aluko with Bonne up top.

Aluko looks far better than the guys who started. Again.

Nothing sticks to Bonne. But He getting hardly any crosses or through balls so those three guys behind him didn’t make enough happen. Again.

Overall,a fair result, would have been different if one of our post hitting shots netted. But Oxford are a top 6 team, and we have work to do to make up our dreadful start.
I would like to see Fraser and Morsy paired again, as Evans had an off day. Impressed by Edmundsen, Clements and Toto. No-one gonna get round the big fella. And Walton very confident between the posts.

Not impressed tbh, back 4 and keeper looked pretty solid.
    Morsy was decent
    Evans poor (rather Fraser)
Celina, Edwards and Burns were bloody awful imo and should have been taken off at half time
Bonne ok but service was poor!!

    Aluko for Burns
    Chaplin for Edwards
    Pig for Celina
    Fraser for Evans

    442!!!!!

    Walton
    Donacien
    Nsiala
    Edmundson
    Clements

    Aluko
    Morsy
    Fraser
    Chaplin/Celina

    Pig
    Bonne

    Thank you and goodnight!

Covers all the bases Spanish, and on todays performance, that would be a stronger team, and 442 must be the way forward.

Just to repeat, I feel that Evans and Edwards have had their chances, and both came up short against strong opposition. Edwards repeatedly blasting over or wide when a simple direct cross would have nailed it for Bonne and co. Moreover, Celina, although he weaved his spell and showed glimpses of his former best self, he too couldn't make his mark, and although he came close to scoring twice, perhaps time to bring in Chaplin; to be fair I cant remember Chaplin having a poor game.

I have no issues with our defence - tough today, determined and much better understanding with Walton too.

Finally, our Bonne boy cant be expected to keep up his amazing scoring record and confidence if he isn't given the service.

So, PC, time to ring a few changes. Will be interesting to see who he takes up to Oldham. A helluva a long journey.

Didn't watch the game but interesting debate going on here. Sounds like Burns had a poor game, which I guess you can except as he's been in great form all season.

As I've said, front 4 when things aren't going our way lack alot of things even if there's alot of quality there. Too many players who due to their style of play lose the ball quickly, Edwards needs to start find end product and I think both him and Celina are better playing wide left and not cutting in as much, both need to really attack the full back. I'd prefer to see Fraser or Chaplin in the 10. Plus for all the great work Bonne does, he's not great at holding it up and that means we have 4 players up top who play the game at 100 miles an hour, sometimes we need to show a little more guile. But agree with some of the other comments, think we could try 433, as Liverpool to be fair have a similar approach to us albeit at a much higher level.
