Kane starts with a bad pass which gave them a chance and a pen claim. Now they go 1 up, back heel close in un marked.
A very strange match, I guess a “pre-season friendly” sums it up perfectly. We seen to be playing fluently and well, in a manner that is pleasing to the eye, but we are not dangerous in front of goal, and are in fact losing Oxford seem to create the better chances in front goal.
Smyth made a good break there and a chance for Oteh, but a bit behind him maybe and he could only hit the corner flag.
Christ Commentators talking over each other, Warburton is on a crutch, lost 1-0 could have been 3 or 4. Eze sorely missed, little going forward, except Smyth at the end. Kakay did well, Kane terrible, didnt see much from Dykes, Chair ineffective, yawn.....
Only watched 2nd half, you can see we are trying to move ball quickly, Smyth looked lively, not sure I could identify every players name at this stage
I wonder whether there may be a late push for some loanees, we're pants on the evidence of this performance...
I listened on radio Oxford, never mentioned us except to say one of our players missed a couple of sitters at the end. Was that Oteh? It seemed they were all over us...and we could not defend crosses (I have heard that before...the entire whole of last season I heard it) But boy did they go on about how Oxford loves Todd Kane, he apparently played for them in 2018 and was outstanding and they want him back (Swap for Dickie perhaps or perhaps please!) Ah well it was just a preseason friendly????!!!
I am very worried. If BOS and Manning go we will be looking at Div 1 football in a years time. Any newcomers will not get any game time between now and Forest match. I really hope that Warburton has something up his sleeve or he will not last the season.
