If he does turn out to be a professional sicknote which is a real possibility given his record so far then yeah we've definitely dodged a bullet by not paying him to get massages year after year.
Good player, but I think everyone knows his injury record. Always a risk with any player, not our problem anymore though.
Yeah, I get you mate. I agree with you what you said. They're ex players and no longer with us, not really interested in their careers now.
Especially most of the recent departures. There are exceptions of course. Pickford and players who warmed to our hearts(not many recently.)
In the same boat. Any **** who didn't earn a move but forced a move is as interesting as a game of bridge to me now.
Part and parcel of the enjoyment of football imo., is keeping an eye on departed hero's or villan's, two caught my eye this weekend in McShane and Meyler, both had decent games and would not look out of place by any means in our present team. Niether would Beadling or Ryan, just two of the players not considered good enough to be even given a chance.
I don't get the McNair thing. He was probably one of the most overrated players we've had in a long time. Apart from 2 or 3 games where he played really well, (which player doesn't have them games?) he was bang average. He didn't exactly set the world alight. Will he shift Leadbitter from the team? Debatable.
It's just a Sunderland thing mate, if they aren't whingeing they will find a whinge from somewhere.. People can never move on, Ted Bundy managed too when prison life hit him until they sparked him in 1989.. nowt like a Sunderland fan around when you are going through a cliffhanger life ha.. Hey, have a bit of my cancer and lighten up ffs..
I saw him playing in the development team for Man U and thought he was talented then and had his back in the early days when he got tried by association to Moyes(Something I reckon is still engraved into the subconscious of many fans which makes him auto disliked) I Think will do well if he gets over the injuries, he'll dump Leadbitter out on his arse with ease if he can stay fit(way way better imo). But he's a Boro player so couldn't give two ****s now.
We parted with a bunch of decent players when we were, or so we thought, upgrading the team. The fact that a lot of the upgrades didn't work out doesn't demean the players we let go. Players come and go all the time and our attitude to them depends on the memories they leave. McNair left a few good ones, but nothing that makes me bothered about what he does from now on. The players that boil my piss are the ones like Bent and Kone. Players we gave a chance to and who wanted to bugger off as soon as a "better" offer hoved into view. Those two could have been club legends and I shall certainly follow their fortunes in future, hoping that a brush with League 2 is on the cards..
