Got back at about 2am this morning after what can only be described as a wasted trip.

All the sound bites from Pardew in the build up were that Swansea would be tired and how this season he had plenty of options in the squad etc. I said he should make changes but unfortunately he got suckered in by the small club/manager mentality of "never change a winning team". It cost us the game (along with his formation).

From kick off Remy, Shola & Gouffran all looked a yard off the pace. We weren't helped that Pardew only played two CM's against the best passing team in the division, they played with one deep lying striker so had effectively six midfielders against our four. We were chasing shadows for the first 45 minutes.

He simply had to make changes, by not doing so he took away any advantage we could have had over them. Pardew will steer us to mid table this season and probably top 10 which in itself will be a decent and respectable position.

However he moaned all of last season about not having enough options within the squad to cope with busy periods. Well this season he does have options but last night proved he doesn't know how to utilise those options. As fans when we finished 5th we all said that Ashley should add to the squad as it's always beneficial to strengthen from a position of strength. The same goes for Pardew, by not changing the team last night he actually weakened it.

He said last season on so many occasions that in the second game of a week (often just three days after a mid week fixture, so the same timescale from West Brom to Swansea) all the stats show him that the players don't cover the same amount of ground. He showed a big weakness by not mixing things up. Not only that by why would Ashley now dip in to his pocket to add depth to the squad knowing that if does Pardew won't benefit from it as much as he should.

I said I'd have a moan in the build up to the game if Pardew made no changes to the line up and here is that moan. On a final note Cisse & Anita's confidence must be shot. We were two nil down and two defenders and an alien got brought on instead of them (not sure if Williamson and Santon were injured).

I'm not calling for Pardew to go, not in the slightest. Just stating that last night he showed his limitations, both in squad rotation and formation and it cost us the game. I don't think any of our players other than Obertan actually performed that badly, majority just didn't have that extra yard of pace or energy to get away from their man. Debuchy motm for me, Webb very poor and Swansea fans the worst vocal set of fans I've come across. Absolutely silent until their second goal.

On to Man Utd away with Remy, Cabaye, Colo, Gouffran, Sissoko & Debuchy set to play their third 90 plus minutes in the space of less than 7 days. Please Pardew, bring Cisse, Anita and Ben Arfa (if fit, can only assume this is why he wasn't on the bench) back in to the first eleven to utilise your squad and right your wrongs from the Swansea game.

Parpoo doesn't/didn't seem to know what he was doing. Some pretty obvious things going on that weren't addressed and Swansea were allowed to call all the shots.

    Parpoo and Hacky oot!

BT reported that Cisse has a heel injury, not sure why HBA was missing.

Swear I saw Cisse warming up pre game. Was he not on the bench then?

Okay so maybe Pardew didn't have as many options as I thought. Still both Mbiwa and Anita should have started.

Or you just got ripped apart by a better team on the night.
We are so used to claims that we win because of the failings of the opposition rather than the quality of our play.

Ginola said he saw Cisse come into ground wearing flip-flops then went onto say he had heel injury.

Ripped apart? In the first 45 mins the whole stadium would have been entitled to ask for their money back. We had a Remy header on target to show for our efforts and you were gifted a goal by our keeper with your only real effort.

Second half for the first twenty minutes it was all us, Gouffran then got bundled over in the box and as usual Webb refused to award that as a penalty and 10 seconds later we were 2-0 down.

After that we were always going to struggle. It was only at 2-0 that you began to "rip us apart" and even then it was mainly due to your best player on the night (who shouldn't have been on the pitch).

Look fella you deserved the win, but not by three goals and Webb gave us absolutely zip all night. Go and enjoy your win on your board, or is it as quiet as your stadium???

We lost, our manager got it wrong, that's what this thread is about. If you wish to contribute on this subject then do so. If you wish to take it off topic and wum then kindly leave or be made to leave.

I think not. A goalkeeping ****-up and baldy Webb basically gave you the game.

I remember when we won at your place a couple of years ago thanks to two Cisse goals. You had all the possession but did very little with it, and never really looked like scoring. Pardew tried the same gameplan again and it might have worked if we'd have got to half-time at 0-0.

He did have the option of bringing Dummett on instead of Obertan though.

We really missed an opportunity with this one, had a feeling beforehand that at best we would get a draw.

I do feel Pardews tactics were too negative and we were giving up possession far too easily and almost inviting it and as said above this tactic might have worked if we had not gifted Swansea a goal at the worst possible time.

We should have been a side brimming with confidence after 4 wins on the bounce, so I can understand pardews reluctance to change a winning formula, however I do feel this also played into Swansea's hands. I feel this game was the time to change things and make a couple of changes to the personnel. I would certainly have brought Anita in and Ben Arfa although I see he was not included. On a side note what has happened to Marveaux? Seems to be no info on him which to me seems suspicious!

None of the above excuses a shocking officiating performance from Swansea's 12th man. This guy never gives us anything, really starting to bug me. If the correct calls had been made I do think this result would have been very different.

In conclusion I really do feel we missed a trick here, but on the flip side maybe it is the reality check that we needed when you win 4 in a row I think your expectations change however we have to be realistic and we can't expect to win every game I just hope we get a good reaction from the players in our upcoming games.

Afraid so, not very often they fail to win 4 times in a row or lose back to back home games.

Apparently he picked up a heal injury in the warm up and so was removed from the bench.

This attitude of not changing a winning team is not managing in my opinion. Surely any manager worth is salt picks a team and formation that will give them the best opportunity of getting a result. For me it's irrelevant whether the team won , drew or lost in the previous match.

So Pardew, now that the team have lost what do you do?

Cisse was injured in the warm up and replaced by Dummett on the bench.

I don't understand bringing Haidara on when we had Dummett, and I have no idea why Obertan was considered for the bench. I'd rather call Ferguson back and let him get some game time.
