Just change the figures to shapes say a square for green and a triangle for red, saves all this crap and should have been the sensible answer but then the idiots who deal with this live in a different world.
You are simply not seeing that all this male dominated symbolism is a calculated subliminal approach designed to prevent women from ever achieving equality. You sir are part of the problem. Seriously, who is losing sleep over this ****? If they are, why are they replacing it with a female symbol? Surely that is achieving nothing but further inequality? As BTK says, if it really is a problem use shapes instead. I have got some really disturbing news for this group in Australia. Its gonna blow their mind... No one gives a flying ****.
**** me. This is what we need to spend council money on, lights in skirts? There are kids dying from chemical attacks and this is making ITV news. I don't know who should be shot first, the list is so long. Also I'm confused - if this light comes on, does it mean I - a man - can't cross the road? What if I'm trans-gender or cross-dressing, can I then cross? Or do I only get to go halfway...... This sort of thing doesn't help inequality, it only serves to suggest there's somehow a difference when there really isn't one. Slightly OT, but Morgan Freeman covered it with racial inequality when he said about people asking him whether he should be referred to as black, dark-skinned, or coloured, or whatever. He said 'I'm just a man. The sooner we stop talking about differences, the sooner inequality stops.' As for people in general coming up with this ****, Ricky Gervais posted a series of tweets about some chinese festival where they torture dogs, referring to those responsible as c***s. One of the first replies was a woman saying how that word is offensive to women. Nothing about the torture, just offended at a word. Whether you like Gervais or not, watch Humanity (Netflix) - he does dig into what freedom of speech is and how Twitter has completely muddled it, allowing people to express opinion as fact, then gather in mini groups who all believe the same bollocks.
Why have a symbol at all. America have 'Walk' and 'Don't Walk' what is wrong with that? Are they saying that we, as a nation, are less literate than America and couldn't cope with words
The very notion of equality is an artificial construct, men and women are wired differently emotionally, mentally and physically, no amount of legislation or desire for this to be untrue will alter the very simple facts of nature, what a lot of the activists want is not what they have in the vast majority of cases which is equality of opportunity but equality of outcome which is by no means a fair construct, the achievements in my life are not because of my gender but because of my own hard work and determination.
It's not just here though, this is the disease of the liberal developed world, as Lord Jonjo says there are bigger fish to fry but this is what takes the headlines.
You do realise that means some knacker will undoubtedly complain that it's offensive to people in wheelchairs etc? there's always offence if you spend every minute of your day looking for it...
Brilliant. Don't know what the fuss is personally. I find this a mildly amusing diversion rather than worth any of the fury on display here.
See and this is the issue with middle England (UK for anyone who maybe offended) is that they just go with the flow too much. Too much left wingism going on. I'm not a knobber Tory either nor a bigger knobber LibDem or a bigger bigger knobber UKIPper.
