Must make Adel feel a bit better I suppose. Looked pretty similar too.

I used to take penalties all through my youth and twenties. Hard and low to the goalies left. I scored twenty on the spin, in off the post or into the side netting. Didn't matter if the goalie knew where I was placing it. If I hit it correctly, it would go in. Regardless. Practice made perfect. Used to spend hours and hours taking pens and free-kicks. One day, I slightly mis-hit one which the goalie saved. After that, I tried different options with mixed effect. I missed a lot more than I scored and lost a lot of confidence.
That was at a very amateur level. Christ knows what it's like being a pro and the goalie and the taker trying to out bluff each other when everything is recorded and viewable. I would imagine that as a pen taker you would need five pens in your locker. And have the confidence and ability to hit every one sweetly.
Difficult to criticise Adel on the Norwich pen. He was damned whether he blasted it or placed it. Every goalie gets lucky sometime. A penalty taker has six options. The goalie only has to guess one to get it right. Even if he does, he will only save 50% of those. Adel was unlucky that day.

Has to be said that Helguson's penalty against Chelsea wasn't particularly good and was very nearly saved. Fine line.

I think Adel's was well saved
I think you should understand today that keepers practice pens everyday
More are scored than saved but sometimes I think you should look at the term missed. Goalkeepers are generally fitter stronger and what's more do their homework
I saw Adel's pen in the flesh and the truth is the keeper quested right and made a fine save
His other pens have been world class
Swords needs to apologise for being stupid on this re this particular pens as it was a great save
90% of Adel pens he sends the keeper the wrong way
**** happens we drew the game and got one point it's over
Low hard and placed like nines said is the way to go pretty sure Adels would have hit the back corner of the net

I know Swords he should have put it the other side shouldn't he?

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both missed in the CL semi finals last year. Arjen Robben missed in the final. Anyone can miss, means nothing
