Happy to be proven wrong but I don't seem to remember us playing holding midfielders at the time. Pretty sure Korey Smith was out injured and we tended to play Pack and Reid, granted Pack might have played defensively but Reid?
City often used holding midfielders Pack, O neill, Geifer, and even Joe Bryan once in a two (4-2-3-1) holding .They often (very) also did something else.
Their both German ... I think, or did ... Two Clemence v Scotland's in one day .. And when I should be working!!
O'Neil wasn't playing the season before last. Giefer was a keeper Hegelar was signed in January. As Rob stated Smith was injured so using them against what Rob says is irrelevant as they all wasn't here until last season at the earliest. Unless you meant moved TOWARDS defensive holding midfielders.
I am referring to last season. What I have highlighted (rather haphazardly) is City frequently changed set up but did use defensive holding. midfield players.
I agree with all this. Some people seem to swing to the extreme on LJ. Possibly because of his father(?) who knows - or cares? He's just another Bristol City manager to me. I'm sure like all managers he is trying his best - which right now is pretty good, so the 'haters' are quiet - but they are still there don't you worry. If we lose a couple of games I will hold my nerve. If losing becomes a habit then I will become concerned and will demand change - possibly at manager level - depending on the nature of the defeats (Forest away last season was the worst I have ever seen City play) but that isn't because it's Lee in charge - I would whoever was manager. The club is more important to me than who the manager is.
