That’s because we didn’t win - Peterborough lost. Happens a lot when we score more than the favourite team.
To be fair corners are much better than before, and there is more than one routine. There is no doubt both Honeyman & Elders delivery has improved a lot, but you have to also give the coaches some credit for that improvement.
I'm confused about the criticism of Elder's delivery. Is that the same Elder who has 9 assists in all comps?
I think you have mis counted. His crossing from open play in general is very good. His corners were very poor against Peterborough.
With that ground under his feet I’m not surprised, I’m laying pavers in my daughter’s garden that could best be described as a quagmire but I think I could put in a corner better on her mud than that on Tuesday night
You know, if this is hurting you so badly, why not go work it out? Total numbers of free kicks, corners, aren't usually a stat people take notice of, because it doesn't matter.
If we keep attacking forcing free kicks or corners then we increase our chance of scoring. The answer is in the attempt to pressurise.
You taking free kicks and throw ins from inside our own half and well far away from creating any chance in there? Because I don't think a free kick won in our own half counts as a chance to score, do you?
We have played 35 and scored 18 from set pieces. I think that shows how effective they have been. It doesn't matter how many we have, it's how many have gone into the net that is important. Our corners and free kicks have been more more threatening this season. Even our throw ins have improved. Last season we might just as well let the opposition have all of those because they got the ball almost every time from them. Yes, Elder did over hit a couple and Honeyman didn't clear the first defender but compare that with the number that cause panic and you'll see it's very few. The stats would be even more favourable if Greaves had found the net with his chances!
Regarding throw ins: It's rare to see anybody other than Honeyman regularly trying to make themselves available.
This sad bastard just worked out how many corners everyone in the league has had.
