My brother just sent me this pic, from the control tower at Cardiff airport. 12 BA 747’s in ‘storage’. My bro reckons they’ll never fly again. Big 4 engine 20 year old jets have been superseded by more efficient 2 engine jets. Looks like this lot are destined for the breakers.
He might be right. Flown on those ****ers a few times, way better imo than the 777’s that they now choose to use on many of their long haul flights.
Yep same, flown on a few 747's. Iconic aircraft really. But old slow polluters by today's standards. Airbus took that slot with the A380, but the trend now is for smaller more efficient aircraft....or at least it was. The airline industry has taken a hammer blow from Covid and a few airlines have already gone to the wall, with more likely to follow.
