Wouldn't surprise me if he has, that way it looks like firminio is a bad buy rather than a good buy who is being hindered by the formation.
It's hard for new signings from a different country to come in and settle. It's even harder for them to come into a team that has changed and is still trying to develop a way of playing and in a bad run of form. It's far easier for someone like Sterling for example to come into a team that is in good form and blend in. He doesn't have to do anything spectacular but just be solid and he can settle where as Firmino has come into a team playing pants and stands out if not playing well because he's new and the price. I'm positive in 2 or 3 months he'll be playing and be a very good player with players like Coutinho/Lallana/Sturridge linking up.
Not many have increased their expenditure since their last trophy by four times and still failed to compete. Basically just you and Everton there, and at least Everton have an entire generation's worth of inflation to excuse it. please log in to view this image
Yup said that couple posts down. There are a few that are clearly playing in unfamiliar positions and it's not only a detriment to them, but the team. Gomez, Lallana, Ibe, Firmino, Ings have all played out of position and have suffered because of it.... as well as Can, Moreno last year.
Where is his best position? Although I never saw him play he scored a **** lot of points for my FF team last year through goals and assists, I imagined him to be a wide striker.
Fair shout with Can, but Moreno was played as full back and wing back, not a massive difference there.
I know you'll probably accuse me of being biased but Lallana has played in his best position and still struggled (IMO that is as left attacking mid). But I agree - players are simply being forced to play in unfamiliar positions and Rodgers is trying to figure out why things haven't clicked for us.
Quite a big difference to play WB if not done it before.. you're expected to be up and down non stop and often he would get caught in the middle doing neither and be out of position. When he started the season, he was actually pretty good. He made a couple of mistakes but was new to the league so understandable, butwhen we went to back 3/5 then he really struggled.
