It was always pretty ambitious to think Charlton could bounce straight back from three car-crash transfer windows and the efforts of Roland & ESI to rob the Club blind and close it down. They did some serious damage. I'm still hoping that TS and our new gaffer, given a full summer transfer window, can make real improvements. Another season like Chris Powell's 2011-12 campaign will be most welcome
we're not going up this year. we've got the hardest 3 games left and we're not playing well. might be a blessing if it means we can have a good preseason/recruitment period. we need to shift a lot of deadwood.
I have to agree. From what I've heard our players didn't throw the towel in on Tuesday evening. Crewe were just better than us. If Crewe are better than us, Lincoln and Hull are way better than us. We aren't going to beat both of them, then win a 180 minute play-off semi final against the 3rd or 4th placed team. (probably Lincoln again, or Sunderland). That 0-6 against Plymouth had me believing we had much more in our locker than we actually do. Hey-ho. Here's hoping for 30 wins and 100+ points next season in this league.
I think each game is winnable, because this is a league where anybody can beat anybody, but we've lost that bit of momentum we were building up. I'd like to see JF-C take over Watson's role and Shinnie come back into the fold, which I would hope to make our midfield more fluid.
Think that says it all really. No Charlton players in there and I reckon that's about right. We are what we are and we are where we are.
Must admit, I'm struggling to pick a POTY from our squad, never mind someone for the L1 team of the season. Though it might also have something to do with the fact I've only seen the team play about twice
Curbs is right - the home form has ended our season. I don’t expect anything from our final two games. I don’t think we have had a consistent style of playing at home all season.
