Just checked, we had 22 fouls last night. Fair enough, if it is 'a take one for the team' sort of foul. For me too many of the were petulant and silly. As part of us improving as a team we need to stop giving fouls away, it will come back and bite us on the bum as it were.
This. Knew from his Carlisle days he had goals in him, and your right that Keeper never even got spoken too for one of the worst fouls I've ever seen.
A lot of those fouls were down to the ref giving wrong decision, we do need to stop giving stupid fouls away around our box though cause sooner or later it's gonna bite us
Pompey had 11 fouls against them.. but as Motd pointed out on Saturday night in these empty stadiums its who screams the loudest. No surprise with our hosts but I noticed it soon into the game.
Re last nights second half non penalty Just watching Man City v Soton Fernandino tackles a Soton player (not in the area) wins the ball first but then clatters into the Soton player. Sky pundit "he got a touch on the ball before he touched the Soton player thats not a foul". Last night "stonewall pen for me" times 3 pundits Come on Sky you may need to calibrate your commentators and pundits so they are singing from the same hymn sheet
That's why I no longer enjoy watching live football, the pundits are utter rank to a man, and of course woman these days.
Looked to me Sunderland got away with one penalty but looked the better team You look on a good run can see you winning the league now
Jordan Jones goal last night was one of those finishes if De Bruyne does it everyone raves about. Fair play to Lee Hendrie he raved and raved about in commentary. Keeper does well, gets across fast, angles are good and the only way Jones scores is with a magic finish like that. How studio pundits point to the keeper is beyond me. Pompey played a stupid ball backwards but after that it is quality from Jones.
The constant diving from Marquis, etc made the referee reluctant to give Portsmouth the decisions ... ... you have to admit it was embarrassing.
When we have a full squad available we'll be unstoppable. LJ with an injury update. “We had Tom coming back which was a good one, we’ll have Bailey Wright training tomorrow, Ross Stewart training tomorrow, Denver Hume training tomorrow, Grant Leadbitter training tomorrow, and Benji Kimpioka training tomorrow." 8:14 AM · Mar 10, 2021
Reading what the Portsmouth camp and the TV pundits reckoned about the pens and Geads foul we were lucky to escape a 2-1 defeat and that's from a team who hadn't a shot on target all match. Unbelievable Jeff
The bench is already decent. LJ is going to earn his wages trying to keep everybody happy. Excellent time to have a squad such as this when other teams will start losing players through injury or suspension.
Can we not play 15 a side, like when you did when we were kids and put your coats down for goal posts.
We totally controlled the game from start to finish ... ... the penalty claims were just grasping at straws.
It was a reckless challenge if I’m honest, we got away with one there. He’d only been on the pitch about 5 mins as well.
As something that has always been said things even themselves out over a season , you win some you lose some , penalties can go either way some you get some and some you don’t unless you are a team from Manchester called United !
