... before @RTB comes on here throwing his weight about and calling the odds.

The Bolton ground, for away fans, is pretty good.

It has a good covered away end where we get around 5,000 and decent facilities for the lads who enjoy singing about Gary Rowell and hoying beer over each other. We usually create a great atmosphere and have a laugh at the bunch of local 'mental cases', in the right hand corner next to us, who spend 90 minutes shaking fists and making throat cutty gestures ...

... then vanish, without trace, once you get back outside.

The numbers we take are enough to shoo them away and the coppers aren't bad tbh. Burnden Park was always a bit wild and we had a few escapades down there. We came out once and our car had been nicked so we nicked one to get home with <laugh>

We went one Easter and took over their pub near the ground which was absolutely rammed with gangs from Seaburn, Peterlee, the Vauxies, etc ... some absolute lunatics. The toilets were bloacked and the piss came up to your ankles, thank heavens we all wore boots in those days.

Sadly, the ground is in a vast swathe of wasteland, retail park, with few pubs so not worth showing up early., the town isn't much better. If you're on the train it's probably best to have a drink at Manchester Piccadilly and come in from there, about 30 minutes and the last train for kick off is 2pm.

We usually go the Beehive for some scran and a drink then walk the 20 minutes down to the ground.

I'll probably have a few tickets, left over, if anyone is stuck.

    Haway the Lads!!!

Nice one Smug. Anyone got any insight on where to park? I'll be driving down with the laddie and one of my mates. Ideally not too far to walk

    Edit: That pub looks decent

Great stuff. Might have a wander up to that pub if the old man's knee can take the walk. We went a couple of years ago and that Horwich Park pub just over the road from the away end wouldn't let aways in the twats, not even a 7yr old and me 65yr old dad with me. **** knows what they thought we were going to do <laugh> . We ended up hanging about until the ground opened so a few in there would kill some time.

Can the parking at their stadium be booked in advance? It looks a canny size behind the away end. Car park A below....

I use your parking space app. Usually somewhere pretty decent and close by for a few quid for 4or 5 hours.

Nice one, I’ve been looking for recommendations on what pubs to go to pre game. Looks like I’ll be going to Manchester then :emoticon-0148-yes:

Wifey is driving us down and visiting her family in Preston so planning on getting dropped off at Chorley and have an hour or so sampling the delights of the town before getting the train to Horwich and with reading the info from @Smug in Boots I think we’ll head to the beehive from train station

Everything's a bit spread out so you'll have to walk a fair bit.

We usually park at the Beehive then walk to the ground and back, the 15 minutes gives traffic the chance to clear.

There's an 'away car park' at the ground BL6 6JW ...

Loved going to Bolton games especially at Burnden park. My brother in law, his kids and his next door neighbours are fanatical Bolton fans. Many times been in the main stand with them and nearly getting battered for cheering Sunderland on. Even went to Wembley to watch them in a play off final. Had some really good players back in the day. John Byrom, Barry Siddall, Roy Greaves, Paul Jones, Sam Allardyce, Owen Coyle, John Mcginley, Peter Reid, Jason Mcateer to name a few

    Thanks, great info

Do you happen to know if Beehive has a car park? I'm getting picked up after the match and it will be nice for the wife if she can wait in a car park while I finish my pint.

Sorry, didn't read the "we park at the beehive" bit!

I thought, with 5000 tickets available, everyone would be sorted but I'm getting messages asking if I can help ...

... after Wycombe and Accrington you'd think our support might wane a bit <laugh>
