I know he's playing up against pish but can clearly see he's got a bit about him. Plenty of pace and good timing of runs, his square balls have been decent too. Could compete with Clyne for RB? Probably too early to say.

 

He's talented but I have little faith in Rodgers developing young defenders.

Poor Lambert - whoever sanctioned his signing needs to go in the bin. The lad does not belong here.

i do understand benteke has not one but TWO feet jimmy.

Lovely first and second touch by Ings. Has had a decent half to be fair to him, reminds of Kuyt.

already you can tell that gomez is a find. he's nt going on laon i reckon he is going to play in europa.

lambert is toast. needs to go as he's a complete waste of space.

Lucas is not up to it either. he should be easily able for this lot and he's not. he's ok but his level is the same as last year.

 

Lucas was average at best but without his fitness, he's a liability. Need to offload him and bring in quality.

Gomez is highly talented. Either Ilori or Gomez will go out on loan ...

I don't read anything into friendlies. Voronin, Ngog, Aspas and Pacheco all looked like world beaters in pre-season previously!

 

for me you can tell who's where at this point of of this bunch.

teix hasn't been too bad really. the best in midfield but that doesn't say much. rossiter and lucas aint up to it. Markovic did ok for about ten mins but since hasn't done much. ings has done as expected. works hard but is borini mark ii really. he'll miss a lot i think. gomez is a real find and sahko might as well be playing on one leg as its too easy for him. toure is i hope not 4th choice CB cos he's well past it as is lambert.

Just a run out but for me a first sight of gomez and i think he's got something.
