With the 2019/2020 season now officially over for the Gills, please vote on how you would like the 2019/2020 Prediction League competition to be concluded. I thought it would be fairer to put this to a vote, and go with the choice of the majority, as opposed to just picking my own preference. I've set the poll to run for 7 days, to try and give everyone who wants to vote the chance to do so, and will then go with the most popular choice. The options are as follows: Option 1 - Void the competition, no winner for 19/20 Option 2 - Use the current standings as the final result for this season. Option 3 - Extend the competition into next season, so that there would be a 2019-2021 prediction league. All points gained next season, would then be added onto the 19/20 table as it currently stands. With the Star Player league, given the nature of the competition, I don't think extending it into next season would be 'fair' (given the turnover of players that could occur during the summer). I have therefore decided to go with the final standings after the Sunderland game (which I will post shortly), as the final result for this season.
As the league has decided to call it a day as things stand I think that we should follow suit and let the current standings be final. Definitely don't want my (lack of) points carried forward to next season!!!
I think we should use a weighted average, multiplied by some random number, divided by the number of participants, minus 2020 as the current season. To save you the trouble I've already done the math and I win.
Current standings with a couple of minor adjustments; Put grumpygit bottom if he isn't already bottom. Make Resurgam the league winner, he needs it more than me Create a League Two and put just @alwaysright in it. Being the only person in it, he will naturally be Champion, sadly for L2 we will void that season, so no promotion to the big boys league. and I think we need a statue of Scally that we can erect, and then rip back down for being a slave trader. Joke, boss man. OR we can go for the most sensible suggestion and declare the standings as they currently are.
