    Jordan Henderson named England Men's Player of the Year


    Jordan Henderson has been named as the 2019 BT England Men’s Player of the Year.


    The Liverpool captain saw off competition from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane to claim the accolade.

    Henderson represented England on seven occasions during the year, reaching the landmark of 50 caps during a victory in Montenegro last March.

    The 29-year-old also helped the Three Lions secure qualification for UEFA Euro 2020 and a third-place finish at the UEFA Nations League.

    At club level, Henderson lifted three trophies during 2019 as the Reds claimed the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

    Former Liverpool FC Women midfielder Lucy Bronze, now of Olympique Lyonnais, was named as England’s Women’s Player of the Year.

    If they do move AFCON back to Jan/Feb it will surely force the unforceable Klopp into getting decent backups in the summer.

    Five Reds named in UEFA.com Fans' Team of the Year


    Five Liverpool players have been voted into the UEFA.com Fans’ Team of the Year for 2019.


    Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane all feature in the XI following a poll on UEFA's website.

    They’re joined by Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong, Kevin De Bruyne, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski.

    Ten Reds were shortlisted on the initial 50-man list published in December, with half of them making the final team in recognition of their success in the Champions League and Super Cup last year.
