It's actually been utter ****e
Bu ha ha ha ha!!!!!!
It was Villareal all extra time there.
Villareal keeper was awful on pens but de gea has to miss lols.
Some quality penalties but for DDG missing
Both small keepers
Wonder who is gonna be number 1 next season....
Better luck next time
It was dire. Only drama was right at the end of the shoot-out.
No ambition from Villarreal, no quality from Utd.
Wasn't massively arsed about the final, pleased they lost, but taking great deal of enjoyment listening to Scholes talk as if he's got a mouth full glass.
A master class from Villareal. All that experience that Manchester United have accumulated over the years and they can't put away a team as ordinary as Villareal. There's only one thing to do, If they had not cocked up in the CL group stages they would not have found themselves in this situation so only have themselves to blame!!
Yeah Tbf they said that
Every time I listened it sounded like something was going on
Great shootout though
Got to feel for Juan Foyth... he has to go back to Tottenham to play in the Europa Conference League after winning a trophy & qualifying for the Champions League with Villarreal
He joins the long list of Spurs players to win a trophy whilst not at the club or after leaving them.
The way I look at these things is this, people underestimate european sides all the time but find that players like Fernandes are suddenly half the guy they think he is the minute a decent defensive shape is put up against them.
He was far too advanced, had no space and was anonymous. I dont think he touched the ball all of extra time.
Also if an manager is up on the sideline actively engaged I am not sure exactly how helpful it really is but I do know if he sits in his seat saying nothing then puts on defensive players it's all rather pointless. Ogs always strikes me as a guy waiting for something to happen rather than thinking how to influence the game.
Anyway the pens were not all great. Both keepers should have saved 2 or 3. Both were just guessing and half the time a guy was passing it home after then jumped out of the way. The villa real keeper should have saved to win the game twice where he got a weak hand to them and one he actually had his other hand on the ground rather than go two handed at.
De gea was poor but got a couple guesses right but villareal smashed them all home, he tickled a couple but had weak wrists. Actually his own pen was the weakest hit strike of the night.
The guy tried every trick and the ref ought to have booked him. He gobbled on the ball. Talked to at least 4 of the villareal players, stood out of the nets making players weight but forgot the basics of actually standing up and waiting for the strike.
Time for me to go onto the United board …
I can see why after he succeeded winning everything at PSG....
Small pay off from PSG, not compensation, everyone is happy.
Spurs fans can enter a deluded state for a short time until someone actually bids for kane.
